Patton's p.o.v.
*tw: Mental abuse (I hate Dan)

A few days after Logan and I had made up, Dan came over to my house to discuss our wedding. Now that it was clear that Logan and I are just friends, it's a lot easier to think about my future with Dan. I have a lot more hope that he'll be better once we're married. He hasn't yelled at me in at least a week, which is a big improvement!

"Soo, I was thinking you could plan the wedding. I want it to be a night for you to remember."

I smiled at the thoughtful gesture. "Wait, really?"

"Of course, sweetheart. Anything for you."

I blushed and opened my laptop. "Well, I do have some ideas already for the wedding. I was thinking it could be on the beach and we could do it at sunset and there could be blue and yellow flowers on each of the seats and--"

"A beach? Really?" Dan said, disapprovingly.

"I thought you said I could plan the wedding." I said, a bit confused.

"Well, yeah, but I get a say too. It's not just your wedding. Jeez, why do you need to make this all about you?"

"No, no! That's not what I meant, I just.." I sighed, knowing he was right once again. "Alrighty, then that's a no to a beach. Where do you want it to be?"

"Oh now you're making me do all the planning? Really, Patton?"

"No! I just wanted your opinion so I could--"

"Whatever, go out and do nothing like you always do. I'll do everything." He said and yanked the laptop from me. I tried to take it back, insisting that I could do it myself. He just slapped my hand away.

"I said I'll do it! Now get out!"

"B-But this is my dorm--"

"OUT." He yelled firmly. I immediately got up and grabbed my sneakers and ran out the door before I even put them on. I slammed it shut, which I immediately regretted, knowing he'd get even more mad. I ran down the hall and down the stairs. I heard him yelling after me and his loud footsteps stomping above me.

I ran full-speed down the sidewalk as my feet hit the pavement. Though Dan is pretty buff and fast, I'm faster. Though, not that much faster. I turn around to see him slowly gaining on me. I try to pick up the pace and run faster than I think I've ever ran before. The only thing I could think of is getting away from him. Fear was the only thing powering my body right now. The tears clouded my vision as I ran into a large parking lot.

I had to get somewhere in public. Somewhere where he couldn't hurt me without getting in trouble. I saw a large familiar building and stopped just so that the automatic doors could open and then I ran inside. I ran through the isles before I got to the check out.

Logan had just finished helping a customer as they left, eying me as they exited the store. I was shaking in fear as I looked at Logan, who already seemed to know something was wrong.

"I need to hide. Please."

He nodded and took my hand as he ran to the other side of the store, dragging me behind him. He unlocked a door and opened it, pushing me inside. It was pretty cold, considering I was in with where all the milk and drinks were kept. He took off the sweater he was wearing over his shirt and tie and handed it to me.

"Why do you need to hide?"

"J-just don't let him find me." I begged him.

He simply nodded and looked quickly behind him as someone entered the store. He put a finger over my mouth to be quiet as he shut the door behind him. I immediately started shivering, so I put on Logan's sweater. It was a little big for me and the sleeves covered my hands, but it was still warm from when he was wearing it. It made me feel safe.

I walked farther down into the storage and I could see parts of the store through the glass doors and I was still hidden behind all the milk and eggs. I could see Logan restocking some shelves as Dan approached him. He was smiling and looked like a totally different person.

Logan stayed straight faced the entire time and I only saw him respond a few times. Dan looked around in a few isles and seemingly asked Logan another question. Logan just shook his head and said what I assume to be no. Dan just smiled and shook Logan's hand before exiting the store. Logan stood there for a few seconds and watched the window. He then made his way back to the storage room and unlocked it again, peering inside.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded, though I was still pretty cold. Logan led me back outside where it was much warmer. I thanked him as we made our way back to the check out isle. Logan got back to his spot and began scanning someone's items. He turned to me while he was doing so.

"Oh, Daniel said that he'd be waiting for you at your dorm. I think it'd be best if you refrained from going home for the time being. Especially if he puts you on the edge to that extent."

I nodded, though I wasn't really sure where I'd stay for the day. As if on cue, Logan gives me an answer to my question.

"You could stay here if you'd like. Though I can't promise you it will be overly interesting."

I smiled and nodded. "If that's alright with you, I'd love to stay."

He simply nodded and finished bagging a woman's groceries. I couldn't help but notice that he wasn't smiling as much today. Usually when he hangs around with me I can get a smile out of him. But not today. Come to think of it, he still hasn't ben gelling his hair and he wore a sweater. He doesn't wear sweaters on weekdays.

I couldn't place my finger on it, but he seemed off. Not as off as he had been when he came to my dorm once when we..fought. Still, something wasn't right, and I planned to get to the bottom of it. After all, he's my friend. It's the least I can do.

(Welp there's plenty more angst to come with Logan and still Pat. Though, I hope y'all enjoyed. Also, I know these chapters tend to escalate quickly, so I'm sorry if they're not too good. I'm no professional. Anywho, cya in the next one! -Manzana)
