PSYCHE

I.
The weekends ended normally. Now, i got to survive for another week again. Its monday, and though it has already been days since the camping, im still tired to go to school.

Upon the gate, i already saw Anima waiting, she waved as she saw me coming. She seems delightfully happy, in a good mood at that.

"What's with the glumly face?" She hissed, yet had smiled again. "Com'on its monday, let's start this week with a big wide smile" while painting an imaginary rainbow in the air.

I gave her a weak smile, instead. And she started to harrassed me. She held my shoulders and shrugged it. "What's with you? Look, the weather is so beautiful, cant you be at least be grateful for that?" She huffed trying to instill guilt on me.

So i gave her a fake big smile, so that she may leave me, much at my annoyance. "Yeah, that's it. She cheerfully commented.

"Ah" she thumps her palm with her hand as she remembered something. "Psyche, have you thought of the answer in the question?"

"Yeah?" I answered weakly.

As we continued to walk along the corridors, i saw Lex. My heart thumps really hard. As if a bunch of horses are racing in my heart. I got butterflies in my stomach. Much to my confusion, i tried to avoid him and so i looked down. Gosh, im trying to avoid any eye contact but...

He seemed different today. I dont know what's it but definitely something has changed.

Was he this hot before? God, what am i talking? Stupid idea, erase erase. He's not wearing glasses today and oh, his eyes sparkle, much brigther than before. Wait, did he changed his hairstyle? Its cleanly trimmed and fashionably fixed in a brushed up manner. Cool. That emphasized his sharp jaw even more.

"Hey!" Anima just snapped me to be back in my senses. Unaware, but i think i've stared at him dreamily.

When he saw me, he flashed a very cute smile...and wait, he's no longer has his braces. His teeth are blindingly white. This is the first time he smiled at me. Maybe we've just cleared a wall between us, i guessed. So the mood is much lighter. But oh, my heart is racing. That makes me uncomfortable even more though. He is wearing a semi-fit navy blue polo partnered with a faded black ripped jeans.

I have to admit that he is dazingly unusual today. He is more handsome in this transformation.

"Hi" he said trying to clear the awkward tension between us.

I dont know, but it seems the girls around us are sneakily gawking at us. As if they're trying to assess the whole situation. "Oh no! We're not dating" that came out of my mind surprisingly. Its too defensive a thought, but somehow i like the idea. Silly right.

"Hey, what's with the new look?" I commented pointing his whole body.

Ahh he rather smiled shyly, which i find it cute. What? im acting like some simple-minded folk. He scratched the back of his head, and oh, that makes him more attractive.

"Heading to class?" He asked.

"Yeah" i shyly muttered.

"Excuse me!" Anima tried to clear her throat to remind us that she is still there.

So i clung unto her and walked towards the classroom as fast as we can.

"What's your problem?" Anima asked as soon as we reached the room.

"Dont tell me---"

"No!" I yelled as i cut off what she's supposed to say. Though, i dont actually know what's she's going to say.

"You know what, you make things more obvious when you turn defensive. If you dont wanna caught, then keep your feelings to your pocket."

"Com'on, i mean, there's nothing wrong if we admit and embrace what we feel. Sometimes, our truest self is actually seen in these abrupt emergence of feelings" she hissed.

"She's got a point. Emotions and feelings make us true humans. Otherwise, we are just a programmed robot who try to manipulate our self" i thought to myself.

I felt guilty so I stayed silent and get readied for the class.

---------

I tried to make this part lighter than usual. Since, i think the mood is pretty serious with the previous chapters. Hope you're liking it. Feel free to comment and suggest anything to improve the story.
