After hearing Noah's story, my mind didn't seem to work properly. I had never noticed or even heard that Noah was also an orphan. The most foolish thing was that I wanted to hear more. I didn't even care much for the story, but his voice was something else. I could have listened to it all day, even if it infuriated me. Even if I wanted to make him regret every little thing.

"And then what?" I asked, wrapping his jacket tighter around me.

Noah seemed to be caught up in his own thoughts, dragged out of them by my own voice.

"What do you mean?" He asked, surprised to hear me talking to him.

"What happened after the hospital? You just cut your life short." I explained.

"The same vampire adopted me, and we moved town. And then we lived happily ever after doing freaky vampire things." He described, not bothering with detail.

"And then," He added, after a dramatic pause. "I met you."

I was silent, forgetting about my surroundings. It was only when I felt a hand grab mine that I realized I was about to hit a tree.

Once Noah let go, I soon noticed that there was a camp set before us.

The trees seemed to grow around it, whilst tents occupied the open space. A camp fire inhabited the center, and people sat around it, eating, drinking and socializing.

As soon as we stood in the clearing, people gazed at us curiously, some in shock, others just interested. I glanced back, realizing that everybody was now silent. All of the wolves transformed into men in front of us, and Miles stood,  presenting us to the gatherings.

"My people," He stated. "The human and the vampire stay. You may NOT harm the vampire- unless he proves to be as heartless as his kind. And as for the human, you know the law."

And the people went on socializing.
