Jade and I manage to kill the two vampires quite quickly. Noah had to hold Jade's kill down, of course. I had clawed out one's heart, whilst she decapitated the other. We all stood together, panting wildly. We soon realized that Enzion was not with us, so we waited impatiently for him to make his appearance. As we were about to go searching for him, he stumbled out of the alleyway.

Enzion was leaning against a cheap metal sword, his nose facing the wrong way as blood poured down his face like a waterfall. I wasn't usually easily shocked, but seeing my brother with a broken nose had to be an exception, just as my father dying did.

He wrapped part of his t shirt around his nose and winced, his eyes filled with agony.

"Got anything for a backwards nose?" Enzion asked me, trying to cover up the pain in his voice.

I dug into my pockets, feeling for a certain cap. As soon as I found it, I examined the label carefully. I made Enzion kneel down so that I could reach his nose. I smeared gel around it unevenly, hoping to cover the affected area.

We waited a while, packing our things up in the time it left behind. Enzion was leaning against the brick wall when we heard an extremely loud crack coming from his nose.

"You alright?" I asked my brother, quietly. He winced, his nose now facing the right way.

"No. If you are talking about my face, yes, that's alright," He continued gloomily. "I just can't believe that he was hanging around those kind of people."

"Who?" I asked, trying to remember the last person we had talked about.

"Partius. He's the one who did this," He pointed to a smudge of blood that had dried up on his shirt. "I always knew that he was a jerk, but to beat me up? I did not expect that."

I stopped myself from sounding surprised. "So he's a vampire now?"

Enzion shrugged. "I don't think so. He wouldn't have let me live if that was the case."

I nodded, relief flashing over my face. Partius was a good brother to me, but he had never been so nice to my father and Enzion.

We got up, brushing ourselves off. We took slow steps down the street, prepared for another ambush. But by the time we got to the end, nobody had attacked us. I did a quick medical check to determine if anybody was hurt, but I quickly concluded it with no new discoveries.

It began to patter, rain washing over our tired bodies, drops of water refreshing our senses. A town park was built ahead, and I found myself wanting to fall asleep on the soft, luscious, green grass as it rained.

Enzion had seen the look in my eyes, and spoke determinedly.

"Right, who wants to take first watch?"
