A quick glance at my watch told me that it was after midnight, which explained why the streets were empty, looking as if they had been abandoned a day before. The wind was mild, and the only sound that I could hear was my associates' footsteps and the firetrucks in the distance.

I heard Enzion whistle, a short, single note and Arius quietly and gracefully dropped next to him.

Now that I could see Arius closely, I admired his golden wings an stunning soulless eyes. I understood why Enzion would put the magnificent beast before himself.

I reached out my hand to stroke Arius, automatically.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Enzion warned, staring at my hand. I immediately pulled it back, giving Enzion a quick apologetic glance.

He nodded.

"What is the human's name anyways?" Enzion asked, just to make conversation.

"I'm Jade, and this is Noah,"Jade introduced, carefully. She glanced at me to make sure I didn't argue. "We're not exactly new to each other, unfortunately."

A look on Phoenix's face told me that she had already realized this.

The streets were dimly lit, and it would have been almost impossible for Jade to have seen all that I could. As we were about to pass a dark alley, a shady figure stepped out, shocking even Phoenix. This figure was one I recognized. One that I dreaded.

I could hear Jade gasp, as this man came into view to the rest of my group.

I heard Phoenix let loose an inhumane growl, as Enzion stood protectively over her. The shady figure ignored them, and turned to face me.

"Brought us a few new friends, have you?" He sneered, bearing his pointy fangs. I growled, attempting to fake confidence.

"Go back to hunting the innocent, why don't you?" I shot back.

In my peripheral vision I could see Phoenix opening the luggage case, and grabbing items out of it, madly. I could also smell fear rising off of Jades' skin, and apparently the other vampire could, too.

"Food on the go? That's not too bad of an idea, actually. Partius, Grant, write that one down for me," The man laughed as two other men appeared beside of him. The man pulled off his hood, revealing a pair of black, heartless eyes. The eyes of a coldblooded killer.

"These are my friends," I announced. "You will let us go freely."

The man, Oscar, smiled. "Eh no. I don't think so," He said as he pounced.
