Chapter 25
"Atom, sakay tayo sa Sky Eye!" yaya sa'kin ni G. Nandito na kami sa Sky Ranch at mukhang handa na siyang mag-enjoy ng mga rides. 'Yung totoo, feeling ko dahilan lang ni Guian si Jonas para makapunta sa theme park na 'to. Siya siguro talaga ang may gusto.
Mariin akong umiling. "No. I'm a scaredy-cat," I confessed.
"Hindi naman nakakatakot 'yan," he assured me.
I shook my head again. "You only say that because you're brave."
He teased me, "Ay, ang hinang nilalang naman talaga. You continue to disappoint me, Andr—"
"Kahit na ipagsigawan mo pa buong pangalan ko, hindi ako papayag," I immediately cut him off.
"Kuya G, I'll join you!" prisinta ni Jonas. He even excitedly raised his right hand.
"See, Atom?" G sneered at me. "Mas matapang pa 'yung bata sa'yo," he teased me. He even rolled his eyes and scrunched his nose to annoy me.
Natawa ako. It's like looking at a mirror. This is what I do in front of Kuya Boaz whenever I don't get what I want.
"Kuya Japh, can I join Kuya G?" Jonas asked his brother.
"Sure, I'll buy another ticket," Japh said.
G stepped forward and said, "Hindi na. Dalawa na 'yung tickets na mayroon ako. Pansin kasi 'tong si Atom, ayaw ako samahan!" He taunted, looking in my direction. I stuck my tongue out to fight back.
"I mean, for me. Since he's coming with you," Japh gently said.
"E 'di wala ng kasama si Atom dito," G stated. It's only the four of us here. Paano kasi sina Jillian nasa kabilang lupalop ng Sky Ranch. I heard she also doesn't like doing scary rides so I guess they're roaming around to check what else to do.
I waved my hands in front of them. "Don't mind me. I'll manage. Uupo lang ako sa bench. I'll wait for you guys," I told them, smiling. Because it's really fine. I don't mind at all. Plus, it seems like Jonas really likes to ride that one.
"Hindi na. Kaya ko na 'tong si Jonas," G said. He knelt down to Jonas' level and asked the kid, "Is it okay if Kuya Japh doesn't join us?"
Jonas promptly nodded. "Basta kasama kita, Kuya G!" excited na sagot niya.
"Oh, well, oh, well," mayabang na sabi ni G. "Japh, you've been evicted as the favorite kuya."
Japh blew air on his cheeks and sighed. Grabe talaga ang patience niya kay Guian. I admire!
"Don't move around, okay? Hold Kuya G's hand," malambing na bilin ni Japheth kay Jonas. My heart almost melted.
Jonas nodded again. "Thank you, kuya!" he said, smiling while taking a hold of G's hand.
Sobrang cute niya.
We watched them line up. Jonas was so excited and he couldn't help but leap out of joy. Buti pa 'yung bata ang tapang. Nakakahiya. I'm the biggest scaredy-cat in our group here.
After a while, Japheth and I decided to sit down on the nearby bench.
I looked at my watch and realized that it's already almost four in the afternoon. Kaya pala lumalamig na lalo. I discreetly rubbed my hands on my arms to warm me.
"Are you cold?" Japh asked.
Oh, he noticed.
I quickly shook my head and lied, "No." But after saying that, my body shivered.
