I gently shook my head while putting down my phone. Elysse has tried many times to convince me na samahan ko siya sa pamumundok niya. And I always say no. Mountains are not my thing. Had she invited me to a spontaneous Batangas getaway, magkukumahog ako. But this invitation? Nah, I'd gladly decline.
"Game na ako!" Sash declared. She's done washing up and she's ready to have her eyebrows trimmed by me.
Truth is, wala naman talaga kaming plano na mag-kilayan dito sa bahay nila. Ang original plan lang naman dapat today ay manunuod kami ng yet another set of Japanese movies at ipa-process namin ang Mackenzie and Izzie Town Square fiasco last week.
It's just that I was so disturbed to find her messy eyebrows while I was re-telling her what I found out. Sobrang busy ni girl at hindi na siya nakakapagpa-thread ng kilay sa salon. Of course, my inner peace was shaken and I couldn't take it so I volunteered to do it for her.
She sat down on their sofa and relaxed.
"Okay, let's get it!" I announced while getting the blade on my bag. I leaned closer to her and started trimming the excess hair on her eyebrows. Since she prefers soft-angled eyebrows, I made sure to do it that way.
Hindi ako humihinga habang inaayos ko ang kilay niya. Dahan-dahan din ang paggamit ko sa blade dahil isang maling galaw ko lang, magiging Monalisa ang peg ni Sash and for sure, ayaw niya 'yun.
When I was already satisfied with my work, I told her, "Ayan na." Nginitian ko pa siya. While looking at her, I couldn't help but give her a compliment. "Ang ganda mo talaga, Sash! Mas kamukha mo na tuloy si Ayami Nakajo!" I humored her.
"You always say that. Ang layo kaya!" she denied, while looking at the mirror.
I giggled because of it. But I wasn't lying about it. I've already told her many times that she looks like Ayami Nakajo but she doesn't believe me. When I first mentioned that to her, she told me I only say that to make her feel better since she loves to watch Japanese films. Pero ako pa ba ang magbibigay ng false flattery? Of course, not. She really looks like her. Sa round-shaped, brown eyes at diamond-shaped face pa lang, wagi na. Kulang na nga lang maglagay siya ng nunal sa left cheek niya para as in magkamukha na sila. Plus, halos same sila ng body built. Mas matangkad nga lang si Sash kasi 5'7 siya while si Ayami, ½ inch smaller.
