"Yeah, that looks good, but maybe Jake shouldn't be so off-centered for this shot." I directed. Today was one of the many days I had been on set, especially this week. Crystal had been scheduling so many things into my life that I barely had time to breathe. I knew after a long day of filming I would have to rush home, shower, get ready, go to the VMA's, and then to the after-party if the boys won. Things had been quite awkward this past week being that I didn't really have any friends in L.A anymore ever since Kayliegh professed her hatred and jealousy towards me. I still shiver at her threat. "Oh my love, what time is it? You have to go to the VMA's, and then tomorrow you have an interview with the Insider. And tonight need I remind you to act classy, support your man, and if you're asked about yourself make sure you mention the movie how your third and final book of the trilogy is being published." I listened to Crystal trying to take in all of this information. I wanted to curl up into a ball knowing all of the tasks ahead of me.

We finished shooting a little bit earlier than I had expected, but I still had no time to relax; but I still found time to stop for a coffee. "One iced caramel coffee please." The cashier turned to her co-worker as she shifted around the cups and bottles sliding me my cup at once. "2.25." She stated as I handed her the singles and quaters. "Thank you." I praised turning around and taking a sip of the ice cold liquid. On my way out I had bumped into someone, "Oh sorry." I apologized a little flustered, but once I picked up my head and saw who it was my mouth nearly hit the floor. "Zoey?" I asked hoping it was her becuase it not that would have been extremely awkward.
"Alana? Alana South?"
"Yeah, oh my God, how are you? I haven't talked to you in like a month. Why didn't you tell me you were coming to L.A."
"Well, I wanted to swing by but I forgot your address at home. I was just about to call you. How are you love?"
"Ugh busy, as always. I'm so happy you're here though. This is amazing." Zoey was my life-long best friend. My phone had been buzzing all day, however I never got a chance to see who it was, now knowing that she was trying to reach me I felt a little guilty for not answering. Zoey and I have been friends since pre-school. She was there through everything, especially the tough time with Calum. I was so happy to have her here. "So are you just visiting?"
"Um, last month I decided to move out here. That's why I haven't been answering I was working on sorting everything out. I know I probably should've told you, but I just felt like I needed to get everything sorted out."
"Oh my God, who cares, I'm just glad you're here now. I've missed you so much." I admitted giving her a huge hug and loosing track of time and grabbing a seat at one of the tables."So besides the move, what's new?"
"Nothing much really, I decided to transfer my credits over to Berklee so I'll be starting that in two months. But what about you Miss L.A.?"
"Uh, well I'm in the publishing works of my third book, the last one of the trilogy. I just did a photo-shoot, and I've been on set for my move Cute with a Curve."
"Oh so you haven't busy at all." She offered jokingly. "Anything else?" She asked suspiciously as her gaze looked over at the cover of a tabloid magazine.
"Oh, that. Yeah, it's a really really long story."
"I get it. I just don't want you to get hurt again.. " She began and I knew exactly what she was talking about. Zoey was a true friend, always has been and always will be, and the odd surprise that she was moving to L.A. was just icing on the cake. Thinking about all these old memories and talking with Zoey distracted me, but I soon remembered I really needed to get home and get ready.
"Are you by any chance busy tonight?"
"No, why?!" Zoey quizzed with a sly look on her face.
"Would you wanna go to VMA's with me. I have an extra ticket, which is another long story. But would you wanna go?"
"Umm....YES!" Zoey exclaimed as she and I exited the coffee shop entering our cars as she followed me to my apartment that I shared with Calum. Zoey and I entered as I dragged her into the bedroom I shared with my current boyfriend who she was quite familiar with. Despite her personal level of knowledge of Calum she wasn't too fond of him, mainly becuase of what he did to me. "You can borrow one of my dresses, I have tons that would definitely fit you." Zoey dragged her fingers over the fabric covering the hangers and picked out a red one that draped a V in the front. "That could work." I admitted pulling out some shoes for her and I.

Zoey and I were showered, dressed, and decked out. The car service that Crystal had hired to drive me had arrived and we were off to the VMA's. Walking the red carpet being greeted by flashes of lights I weezled us to the back where we were greeted by Ashton, Luke, Michael, and my personal favorite Calum. "Hey." Calum greeted pulling me into a side hug. It wasn't until Zoey walked out of the doorway fully that he noticed Zoey. "Is that Zoey Weston?" He asked smugly.
"Hello Calum." She said forcing out a polite tone.
"Zoey?" Luke asked in a high pitched tone which usually happened when he was happy, nervous, and excited. He and Zoey used to have a thing, except neither of them really acted on it.
"Where's Kayliegh?" Calum asked in a low husky tone since it was only meant for my hears.
"Something happened between her and I. I'll tell you later, but for right now, it's time for you to enjoy this." Calum kissed my cheeks letting his lips linger for a moment before he and I stepped out onto the carpet. Of course, he took pictures with the band but Crystal and Adam were both there to make sure he and I did our cute couple photos as well. One that really melted my heart was the one with my hand on his chest as I looked into his eyes. Standing there looking down at me he said, "I love you." I smiled up at him showing off my pearly whites. After photos were done we were forced into an inteview with MTV. "Oh my God you guys, I'm here with Calum Hood from 5 Seconds of Summer and Alana South who is a published author, and was recently on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine, hello guys how are you?" The interviewer asked.
"Good how are you?" Calum responded leaning over to talk into the microphone.
"I'm good well first off I just wanted to tell you, you guys look very very cute together. Alana that dress is absolutely stunning on you. Calum is one lucky guy."
"He's alright." I joked letting out a laugh.
"So Alana, can you confirm or deny if you are making a movie right now. And if yes who are you casting the fans are dying to know."
"Um.. well, yes we are, the casting is however going to remain a secret."
"Well thank you guys for chatting with us. I'm sure the fans at home were happy to get a peak at Lalum."

Shuffling into the complex we took our seats, mine being next to Zoey. Her and I were talking as we became starstruck at out favorite atrist being less than ten feet away. Soon the lights dimmed and we were listening and waiting for 5SOS' category to be announced. Shortly enough the category for best breakout artist nominees were announced and as my boyfriend and friend's band name was announced we cheered, especially Michael. All seven of us were mute holding hands holding in a long breath to hear if they were the winners. As the words left the announcers mouth the boys stood up and cheered. Going up onto the stage they were flabberghasted and I was proud of them. They thanked their team each mentioning someone who helped them out. Stepping back into the aisle Zoey and I greeted the boys hugging them with joy as the pride was basically dripping off of them, and deservedly so. "Congratulations." I cooed in Calum's ear as he gave me a big hug making my heart melt.
