"I'm home." I heard Alana shout. I had just come in from a workout. Once I walked into the kitched I gretted her with a sweaty hug and kiss. "I missed you." She admitted licking her lips. "I had a really really rough day, so is it okay if we order in tonight?" She asked as I agreed with her, but I also wanted to find out what was going on. "What do you want for dinner?" Alana huffed looking through what seemed like a million emails. "Why don't I just go and pick something up for us?" I responded kissing her bare shoulder and grabbing the keys off the counter walking into my car and speeding towards a takeout place. I placed our order taking a seat. "Well, well, well, would you look who it is."
"Oh, hi Kayliegh." I said hesitantly not sure if I should be talking to her.
"What's wrong Calum?" She asked in a tone that I was unsure about. "Come on you can talk to me, we're friends right?"
"I don't know. I know you and Alana aren't friends so I'm not sure if I should be talking to you."
"Ugh, you say one little threat to her and she bugs out."
"You threatened her?" I asked clenching my jaw trying to control my temper.
"Well yeah, all I said was that she better be careful. See what you forget is that I was the one who invited you to Wes' party, I'm the one who told Adam and Crystal. I'm the one who knows the whole story of how you took Alana's virginity, or how you two weren't really dating. I also would hate to forget the part about you and I sleeping together."
"What do you want Kayliegh?"
"What I've always wanted." She remarked in a demanding tone. "And you know what that it is. Enjoy your dinner Calum." I clenched my jaw as I heard her heels clacking against the tile floor. I wanted that bitch out of my life, she was nothing but trouble. My stomach was in knots. Alana had no idea that this whole roomate situation was planned out. Kayliegh invited me to Wes' party becuase she knew that Alana was gonna be there. Kayliegh knew the whole story, about me and Alana. I had sex with Kayliegh which Alana knew nothing about. Now that Kayliegh has all of this leverage on me, I have to give her what she wants.
-
"Kayliegh threatened you?!" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I entered the apartment.
"What?" Alana asked shocked and confused.
"I ran into Kayliegh at In-N-Out and she told me that she threatened you. What did she say to you Alana?" I was angry with both Alana and Kayliegh. Why wouldn't Alana tell me.
"Nothing." She whispered in a light, rasped tone.
"Nothing? Alana I know it's not nothing, you need to tell me what she said." I said loudly getting angier.
"She just said that I better be careful because she knows more than I think she knows." Alana said trying to hold back the tears that were beginning to surface.
"Jesus fucking christ Alana, did you not think that was important to tell me." I was fully enraged now, my hand slipping through my dark hair, pulling at the ends of it. I was ready to punch a whole through the wall.
"Calum, you're scaring me." She whispered, my guess in attempt to soothe me.
"I'm scared Alana." I whined trying to calm myself down. I was scared since Alana had no idea what I had done to her.
"Scared of what? She doesn't know anything." That's where Alana was wrong. Alana was the one who didn't know anything. I couldn't have given Kayliegh what she wanted without hurting Alana, and I couldn't keep the relationship with Alana without hurting her. I took a deep breath and calmed myself down. "I think I need to get out for a little bit." I growled grabbing my keys.
"I didn't do anything wrong, and now you're leaving?" She scoffed.
"I just need to calm down." I growled yet again.
"Whatever Calum." She stated rubbing her temples and sitting down on the couch closing her eyes. I exited as fast as I could driving over to the boy's house. "Hey guys, can I crash here tonight?"
"Is everything okay?" Ashton asked.
"I fucking screwed man." I admitted grabbing aseat on the couch and putting my face in my palms and angrily pulling on the ends of my hair.
"What happened?" Luke wondered.
"Kayliegh happened. I'm just so fucked."
"Easy Cal, just tell us what happened."
"Remember when I-I found out that Alana and I were both in L.A. and that she was dating Keaton, I went to a bar that night and I met Kayliegh. She told me that if I slept with her she would help me get Alana back, so I did, I slept with her. She invited me to Wes' birthday party where she promised me I could see Alana and when things didn't work out with Alana the first night, I slept with her again so she would set us up. The paparazzi was there which helped the situation out a lot and she brought the whole couple thing to Cyrstal and Adam. It was only gonna be so that she would forgive me, I never wanted it to go that far, but it happened, I fell for her and now Kayliegh is threatening to give her what she wants. If I don't tell Alana I hurt her, but if I tell her, I hurt her." The boys were speechless and my rage was uncontrollable. "I just needed to get it off my chest." I waltzed back to my car driving around for hours on end, blasting music, trying to forget everything. The only thing running through my head was if Alana doesn't know what's going on, the worst is yet to come. I screwed up yet again, Alana is never going to forgive me, this is the second time I'm hurting her. Why did I do this, I hate myself, I hate myself for doing this to her. How in the world am I going to tell the girl I'm in love with that I slept with her ex-best friend so that I could be her friend again? She won't think it's cute, she won't think it's romantic, she'll think it's pathetic and cruel. I fucked up yet again, what is it about Alana that makes me hurt her. I walked into the air conditioned home slamming the door behind me attempting to slow my breathing. The anger was leaving my body, but the sadness and realization was just settling in. I crawled up on the bed scrolling through social media in attempts to distract myself. Alana swung her leg over mine straddling me, "You look like you need to relax." She seductively whispered in my ear kissing my jaw line and then my neck.
"Lan, I'm not in the mood." I mumbled scooting away from her.
"Baby, whatever it is, we can get through this, I promise." She cooed taking off my shirt, and I knew that once I committed to this, I was going to regret it.
