it had been a month since I had my meeting with Crystal about turning my book into a movie. I had been completely and utterly exhausted from writing these past couple of weeks. It was a Wednesday afternoon and I was finally able to relax, that was until she notified me that she scheduled a last minute interview with E! News.

I was getting dressed with Calum in the green room while Crystal rambled on about how I was not to make an ass out of myself or of Calum. "Remember to bring up the new book as well as the screenplay. It is crucial that this interview goes well. Do you understand?" I nodded my head yes and the stage manager came in to notify us that we were going on-air soon. We walked towards the stage and took a seat. "We're back with Alana South and Calum Hood Hollywood's newest it couple how are you guys?" The interviewer asked.

"We're good how are you?" Calum said.

"I'm great, let's get started. So Calum I heard you guys are coming out with a new music video?"

"Yeah, we're starting the process for that, but we're not quite sure how we're going to shoot it yet."

"And Alana, you have your new book out?"

"Yes and I'm working on the screenplay for it right now."

"Wow, that's amazing. So Alana, what's it like to be dating a rock-star?"

"It's pretty good. I'm lucky." I said smiling humbly.

"And what about you Calum, what's it like to be dating a world famous author?"

"It's amazing. I'm super lucky to have her. You know it's easy when you're in a relationship with your best friend."

"You guys are too cute. So you guys are both always so busy being in the industry how do you guys find time to spend with each other?"

"Well, it's pretty crazy to try and schedule things in as well as trying not to be in public so that we're not bombarded by paparazzi."

"Yeah, that might ruin the date a little bit. Well thank you guys for joining us and you guys are absolutely adorable."

"Thanks for having us." We walked off the stage and back into the green room where we put on our more comfortable clothing. The limo took us back to our apartment and I wanted to sleep for the next couple of days which luckily for me was possible.

-

The next morning I rolled out of bed and cooked myself some breakfast. Openin up my laptop I saw I was getting an incoming call from my mom on Sykpe. I accepted it greeting her. "Hi mum!"

"Oh Alana, so glad I got you. How are you honey?"

"I'm good mum, how are you?"

"I'm good how are you?" I asked grabbing a seat at the island.

"So, I have some news, for you."

"Okay, what is it?" Her face was sad and I was worried of what sentence was going to come next.

"It's your aunt Annie. She, well, they found out that her cancer came back."

My eyes started to well up with tears. My aunt Annie was my favorite person in the whole wide world. When I was in high school she was diagnosed with breast cancer and luckily she fought it and was in remission. I hadn't seen her since I left for California. I missed her the most. Now thinking about it, I can't help but cry thinking maybe things would've been better if I was there. "Well, is she going to be okay?"

"They're not sure. The doctors are doing everything they can for her but it's not shrinking and she's not making any progress."

"I don't even know what to say mum."

"Just say a prayer for her hun. Okay?"

"Yeah, well I better let you get some sleep."

"Alright love, I love you. Bye." My mum hit the end button on the screen and I continued what I was previously doing. Facing the stove I started making myself some pancakes and baccon.

"Whoa, it smells really good in here." Calum said pushing his front against my back as he kissed my shoulder.

"Do you want some?"

"Yes please." He said giving my waist a squeeze. I continued to cook the meal and once it was finished I cleaned up and got dressed in my comfy sweats so that I could truly relax today.

-

I was sitting on the couch for awhile just flipping through channels, watching a few talk shows and cooking shows. Calum walked over to the couch with something behind his back. "Hey." He said crashing onto the couch.

"What are you hiding behind your back?" I asked trying to sneak a peak but he kept moving it out of my sight.

"Well, I know how stressed out you've been. Do you remember when we were little and our families were supposed to take that vacation to Mexico but it ended up getting canceled because of the tropical storms that they were having."

"Yeah...?"

"Since you've been stressed out..." He revealed the two airline tickets showing where we were going. "You and I are going to Riveria Maya." Calum handed me the tickets and I started yelling uncontrollably.

"Are you serious right now? This is amazing! I cannot believe you did this. You're amazing. You paid for my ticket. Let me pay you back? Wait when do we leave? Oh my God I have to start packing."

"Babe, relax, we leave tomorrow at six o'clock in the morning, I got us a car servie. And yes I paid for your ticket, it's my gift to you."

"I cannot believe you did this. I have to pack. I better get started. Calum thank you so much, this.. this is so amazing of you."

"So you like it?"

"I love it." I smiled with my eyes lighting up with excitement. I could not believe that Calum did something like this for me. It was so amazing. I mean surprising me with a dinner date is romantic, but this was just incredible. He didn't have to do this, but he did.
