Keysha💛

"WAKE UP KEYSHA. WAKE UP NOW!" Somebody in her dreams yelled.

Keysha woke up to all blackness. As consciousness tried to return, she felt awful. She was dazed and even though she thought she was awake, she wanted miserably to go back to sleep. But her body hurt and her head pounded furiously. Trying to find the voice from her dreams, caused Keysha to try and sit up making the pain push through her body. Making her eyes shoot open.

Waking up to the rapid sounds of beeping noise and the sound of ringing machines. I looked around the white room and tried to collect my thoughts, and figure out where I was.

My mind was blank. I didn't know where I was and that made me start to panic. I tried to sit up but my body felt like it was being held down by weights and the pounding of my head made the matters worse.

As she looked around the bright room from the sun beaming through the window, she noticed it was daytime and that gave her the opportunity to check out the surroundings of her room. A sink. A chair. A TV. Rails on both sides of her bed. An IV stand with a tube running into her right arm. She breathed a little and realized she was in the hospital but had no recollection of why she was there and why her body felt like she was being held down.

Keysha tried to talk but no words seemed to form because she had a big tube down her throat and she had no idea of nothing that had happened. She couldn't remember anything. "Why can't I remember?" She thought. Her mind started to race. She didn't even remember who she was, let alone why she was at a hospital. Suddenly the door to her room opened, and the shadow of a figure took place at the end of her bed.

"Excuse me shawty." The man whispered. "Are you awake?"

Keysha nodded her head yes, because she couldn't talk, because she still had the tube in her mouth. She didn't recognize the person in front of her and they didn't look or speak like a doctor. She wished she had the damn tube out of her mouth so she could at least ask the person in front of her who they were and why they were here.

Keysha wanted to know so badly who she was, what was her name, her favorite color, even her family. But she couldn't remember anything about herself. Her mind was blank.

The man had moved around to the side of Keysha's bed so she was able to get a better view of him. He had a nice fade. Tall, with broad shoulders. His smooth mocha skin was clear of any blemishes but he had a couple of face tattoos that broaden his facial features. He was wearing a black Nike hoodie, black sweat pants and Jordans. The door opened again and this time it was the nurse who had been watching over Keysha for the past two weeks. "Good morning Mr. Holmes, is the patient awake?" She asked. The nurse had gotten familiar with the visitor because he also was up here every day for the past two weeks, to check on the patient.

"Yeah, is there any way we can get this tube from down her throat." He asked. He could tell that the tube was making her uncomfortable.

"Of course, let me go and get the doctor." She spoke in a hurry running out the room as fast as she came in.

A few seconds later the same nurse and the doctor both came into the room. "Good morning ma'am, my name is Doctor Allen; I'm glad to see your awake, let me take this tube out and then we can talk." Doctor Allen spoke getting ready to take the tube out.

"How are you this morning?" He asked.

"Confused and scared. I n-n-need some water, my throat hurts really badly." Keysha pushed out.

"Nurse Thomas please go and get the patient some water. Do you know why you're in a hospital?" Doctor Allen questioned.

"No." Keysha spoke honestly. She had no idea on why she was in a hospital, and why her body felt like something was holding her down. She keep looking at the man in the corner to try and see if her mind could remember who he was. Now that she knew he wasn't a doctor, she wanted to see if they had any resemblances to be related, but she didn't remember how she looked.
