Water splashes as earth nation's younglings bathe in rows of tubs in the middle of a forest.
A small baby babbled excitedly as a Hair/Color male holds him closely.
"You like baths? Do you?", Y/N coos to the baby.
"Prince Y/N why do we need to move around so much...", a young child says.
"Because, We all have certain schedules we must follow...mine is to make sure you all are safe...now come along its time for your lessons...", Y/N says gently as he hands the baby off to another helper and he begins getting cleaned up.
As he's emptying the tubs, he sighs remembering why he truly was out there, he couldn't stand to be in the earth palace...
His father and pretty much everyone didn't see any faith in him being the ruler of their nation, instead, they found interest in Y/N's older sister, Hua.
He knew he was pretty decent at airbending and heard once or twice suspicious conversations with the general and a few of his men.
As he set the last tub down, a low growling was heard and he pulled out his fans.
He looked around, then began running back to the village when he heard a thud behind him, there it was...the thing Y/N dreaded the most...
The cat-like creature growled at him as Y/N stood his ground.
They charged at each other, Y/N using his earth bender powers to his advantage sent the creature behind him.
They faced off once again, suddenly a flashback rang out in his mind...
Flashback Begins...
A royal ball had just been finished up, and Y/N had met many wonderful suitors, but for some reason they seemed frightened of something, they always seemed to be looking in the direction of General Fong whenever they approached Y/N, as if for his approval...
As Y/N had finished up bathing he wandered the halls until he spotted General Fong talking with a hooded figure.
He walked forward and attempted to get close enough to hear without being seen.
"Everything is falling into place...we make sure that boy doesn't fall in love with someone else, and both nations can finally live at peace...", General Fong began.
"Well, for a while...you understand this is a bold move to make, given how dangerous my nation is...", a female voice says.
"Just promise me...if your people annihilate the royal blood...be sure to pass this throne to me?", Fong says.
Y/N's eyes widened and suddenly he knocked over a shelf and quickly caught the statue giving away his position.
The three seen each other and the girl in the dark red hood got her fire bending powers ready.
Y/N opened up his fans, however, Fong stepped in between.
"Now now, Prince Y/N...is this any way to talk to your great general?", the older male asks.
"You're conspiring against my father for the throne? How could you...he trusted you...", Y/N says.
"Not at all...Y/N you have a young mind, what you heard may not be as it seems...besides what can you do...you're just a kid...", Fong says.
"I won't let you take the throne!", Y/N says angrily as he quickly lunges at him with his blades, however, Fong deflected the attack, sending Y/N flying above his head.
Y/N landed on his feet, and he let out a battle cry as he threw the girl back against the pillar and went to kick Fong in the face.
Fong grabs his leg and Y/N struggles, The woman comes up to him smirking smugly as she begins to chuckle to herself.
"A weak, immature royal brat...you will be nothing more once the fire nation is finished with you...", the woman says.
Y/N's eyes widened and then he glares at her before tossing his other leg up and flipping in the air, sending General Fong into a pillar.
He turned to the woman and sliced angrily as she attempted to deflect each attack.
Suddenly she gasped as the blade connected with the skin just underneath her eye. Flashback ends...
Y/N looks down at his fans and closes them sighing as he questions himself. Was he truly weak? What would happen if he had warned his father...
Y/N had been sworn to secrecy, or else the blood of many younglings would be on his hands.
He falls to his knees as the creature gets ready to strike.
This was how his mother had died, however, she died sacrificing herself for him and his sister...
The creature growls, however, the sound of grunting and flames consumed the creature as Y/N's vision went blank. Meanwhile... Zuko and Uncle Iroh had gone to the earth nation to explore and see what was worth fighting for.
Zuko noted the number of children running around.
"Isn't it amazing how many families live here...don't you wish to have someone rule by your side when you grow old?", Iroh asks.
"I dunno Uncle Iroh...I haven't found the right one...", Zuko admits.
As they headed into the beautiful forest, they heard a creature growling and a smaller male kneeling to it, as if to surrender to the beast.
"Zuko where are you going?!", Iroh asks.
"There's something about him! I need to save him!", Zuko says.
Zuko uses his fire powers to consume the creature and see the smaller male had fallen unconscious.
He carried him to the nearest medical hut, he stood by the bedside until he knew the smaller boy would be okay...
He looked down at the smaller male and places a gentle kiss on his temple before leaving.
"I must challenge my father now...there is no way he can take this place...", Zuko says.
"Is there a deeper meaning of why you changed your mind? Perhaps a certain someone you saved in the woods?", Iroh asks smiling.
Zuko just sighs as he rides off into the sunset, he turns briefly looking back to the settlement, then he continues riding away.
