Rakshit: I have something very important to tell you. Come with me.
Rakshit took Drishti's hand and both sat down under the fountain. Rakshit just kept staring at Drishti. The cold breeze hitting her face and the moonlight shining on her was mesmerizing to not look. Because the breeze kept moving her hair, Rakshit tucked her hair behind her ears.
Rakshit: (stammering) I have been lying to you.
Finally Rakshit told Drishti the truth about everything from their beginning, them together, Mr. M, being apart and now. Drishti didn't say anything but just kept looking at Rakshit.
Rakshit: please say something. I know it's hard to believe, but what I am telling you is the truth. Trust me. Please.
Was his desperate plead getting through to her? Drishti still didn't say anything and here Rakshit was becoming restless, worried. She kept just starring at his face.
Rakshit: if you don't believe me it's ok, I understand. It's not something to be taken lightly. But please don't stop talking to me.
It broke his heart when she kept quite and didn't say a word. Thinking maybe she needed time or maybe it was best to stay away, he decided to leave. With gloomy and tear stained on his face, Rakshit walks away. With every tread, his footsteps gets heavier and heavier. As if he knew long before that it's too good to be true. (Don't worry, author K is not that heartless. {Actually she doesn't have time, but she's definitely heartless so don't tell her I told you this})
Just as he thought he lost all hopes, Drishti comes running to him and gives him a back hug. Rakshit's surprised yet happy, as she hugs him, he puts his hands on top of hers. Back hugs are touching. It gives you the feeling that someone is supporting you from behind. That is why, it's the best gift your lover can ever give you. (What a moment author K 👏👏)
For now, they needed to speak properly. Drishti decided to talk with him in her room. For some reason, it seemed less suspicious. They quietly go to her room and close the door. Drishti brings Rakshit and both seat on the couch. Drishti holds his hands and looks up at him.
Drishti: I have lied to you too.
Rakshit: what? what do you mean?
Drishti: I knew your father, I mean you were hiding something so I sort of investigated. I mean just a little.
Rakshit: how?
Drishti: so about.....
Mr. M always seemed suspicious to Drishti but didn't bring up the topic because she didn't want to ruin her relationship with Rakshit in any way. She tried speaking to Rakshit, but he's always been busy and they never conversed for too long on the phone. So three days ago, Drishti decided to find out. She hid behind the curtains in the corner as Mr. M entered his room.
He dropped his files on the table and spoke on the phone with his clients. The sound of his voice was different than his usual tone. But Drishti wasn't too keen to notice his voice. However, the things he did after did catch her eye. After the end of his call, he decided to shower. He removed his glasses and fake beard. Drishti was awestruck. She really couldn't believe her eyes.
Her eyes were glued to him because the person wasn't anyone else except her fiancé. In the meantime, Rakshit striped down to just a towel and Drishti unfortunately or fortunately saw him.
Rakshit: you did what?
Drishti: I....I didn't mean to. I mean I just wanted to.
Rakshit: so you saw see without....
Drishti: (covered his mouth as he smirked at her shyly) please stop. I told you I didn't meant to.
Rakshit: but you did?
Drishti: well yeah. Can we stop talking about this now?
Rakshit just kept looking at her while she was embarrassed to face him so she covered her eyes with her hands.
Rakshit: (removed her hands) fine, than why haven't you tell me that you know?
Drishti: I wanted you to first tell me. Until you told me today, I still didn't accept it.
Rakshit: after all that happened?
Drishti: Rakshit....
Rakshit: fine
Drishti: what are we going to do now?
Rakshit: well for starters, I need a nap. I haven't slept in days thinking about all the possibilities that you might reject me and not believe me.
Drishti: I would never. I have always believed you and continue to do so.
Rakshit hugs her and says "thank you."
I will give you a hint for the next part, it's going to be a long night 🤫.
Love more
