Second day of school
3rd Period

Samantha's POV

First and second period went by fast. I was disapointed for a reason.

I had gym today so that kinda sucks. Maribel of course excited and happy along with my brother Jake.

"Sam I don't understand why you are not happy? You do know we don't have to change right?"

"Did you just say we don't have to change?"

They both nodded yes. I ran quickly to the gym now happy. Maribel and Jake right on my tail as we entered the gym.

The gym teacher waited a minute or so before speaking," Hello class since today is the second day of school we are going to play a game everyone knows how to play..." Oh no, not... "...DOGDEBALL!"

Thats when the class got excited and started their teams. Jake was chosen as captain and some freshman kid named Alex was captain too.

As the captains took one side of the room they started choosing. Jake going first. But of course he doesn't choose Maribel first. He does this all the time and chooses her 3rd just so people won't think he likes her.

I gave my brother a death glare meaning if you don't pick me, say goodbye to your precious life. Of course he saw it because he chose me first right away.

Now it was Alex's turn to pick. "I choose......you!" He picked the person who confused me, Collin.

After they finished picking teams it was clear Jake's team was gonna win.

We started playing and so far Maribel and Jake are doing pretty good that is until Alex spoke.

"Umm Maribel...do you wanna go out sometime?"

Jake's POV

"Umm Maribel...do you wanna go out sometime?"

Right after he said that I got angry and jealous. He shouldn't be asking her out since they only just met. But at the same time...he got more guts than me.

Thats when I threw the ball really hard at him. I was happy I did it.

But it hurt me when Maribel felt bad for Alex.

Samantha's POV

Before Maribel even said a word a ball hit Alex's face really hard. Literally, there was a big red mark on his face.

"Jake why did you do that!? You could have seriously injured him!"

"I'm sorry Maribel, I guess I thought it was a good chance to get him out."

I couldn't help but laughed at them. They acted like a married couple. But then theres karma always ruining my fun. I guess I should have paid attention because a freaking ball hit my face.

Thats when I heard laughing. I looked to see Collin laughing at me. I'm so confused , he seemed like a nice guy. Why would he do that?

"Sam! Are you okay?" Thats when Maribel grabbed two balls hitting two people. Then she got hit in return, on the side of her face. "Come on. Lets go sit down on the benches." I nodded. I saw Alex sitting there already with an ice pack. "I'm going talk to Alex and apolagize. Be back ok?" I grabbed her arm and shook my head no. Yet she managed to escape and left to talk with Alex. The only thing I could think of was...

Jake is gonna get pissed off.

Maribel's POV

I can't believe Jake did that to Alex. I mean all he did was ask me a question. Oh well. Everything is a sport to him.

I was already in front of Alex and I started talking," Hey Alex, I'm sorry Jake did that to you. Are you okay? Do you need anyth-"

"Yes I'm fine but I would like it if you would answer my question."

"Well I don't really know you and we've just met."

"So is that a yes?"

"Its very sweet of you but I'm going to have to say no." Oh I hate it when this happens. He looks sad, can't resist hugging him.....

"Do you want a hug?"

"Yeah that be nice right now." Thats when I hugged him then left back to Sam. Jake just got out and headed toward us.

"Why the fuck were you talking to him?!"

"To apoligize for something you did!"

"You didn't need to do that." He was calming down that was good. "Did you see that red mark on his face and he's just a freshman."

"I know but..."

"Why do you care you are not my boyfriend or anything." He became silent and sat down. How does that sentence affect him more than the others?
