Chapter 17: Family Feud

Sam's pov

I walked into math class and sat down. I was waiting for class to start. Then Matty and Collin came in.

They both looked at me and raced to sit in the seat next to mine. The desk crashed into mine as they both sat down.

"Uh guys one of you can sit in mine, Annemarie has a seat for me" I said then I got up and sat next to Annemarie.

"Childish" She said then I laughed. Our math teacher came in and said "Alright class divided the room into girls vs boys because we are playing Family Feud as a review game"

The whole room was filled with the noise of desks moving. Then round one started. We were winning and there was a rule that everyone had to a least go once.

I was the last one to go before the second round started. "Sam" our math teacher said then he looked around the room and said "and... Matty"

We looked at each other and walked up to the desk. We put our hand right on top on the bell then crouched down.

"Im gonna win" he said smiling. "In your dreams Matt" I said then our math teacher said "What is the order of operations" *Ding*

"Parentheses, Exponents, divide, multiply, add and subtract" i said. "Correct" then I smiled at Matty and said "I win" then I walked back to my chair.

There were a couple other turns before it got back to me. Our teacher said " Collin your turn" then he looked over at the girl side and everyone said" Sam pick Sam"

Then our teacher looked at me and said "Ok sam your up" I wasnt feeling as confident as I was with Matty.

Then I looked at Maribel, Ellie,Alice and Annemarie and mouthed "I hate you" and they said "Love you too"

Our math teacher asked the question and I rung the bell first. I didnt know the answer and hopefully Collin didnt either.

I got it wrong and so did Collin. "Its ok we are both stupid" then we both laughed. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all. He took out his hand, "Nice game but I think we both know I'm the smartest."  I laughed.

I shook his hand and walked back to my desk, feeling Matty's glare on me and Collin. Sure I liked Matty but I have more feelings for Collin. It was like Maribel was reading my mind when she said, "When you love two people, you will eventually have to pick one at the end." I looked at her knowing she was serious.

"Is that another of your word of wisdoms daily?"

"Yep. Be glad we both love and understand quotes. But remember this," she took out her phone, showing me a picture of Gemma and Collin hugging, "Pain demands to be felt."

I looked at the picture and looked at Collin. He saw me then waved hi. Why is he confusing me and hurting me so much. Maybe I should stop liking Collin and go for Matty. No. You know you won't be happy about that. "I'm going to talk with Collin after school and see whats going on with him and Gemma. Wanna come?"

I looked at Maribel and smiled knowing like the rest of my best friends, they will always be there for me. "No. I think I'm gonna go straight home."

"Ok see you at lunch. Oh and I won't be here tomorrow."

"Oh is it an apointment or something?"

"No I'm going to Washington D.C. for the March for Life."

"Whats that?"

"Its where thousands of people go to march to stop making abortion llegal."

"When are you coming back?"

"The next day."

"Damn this must be serious."

"It is. Well I got to go. Jake wanted to talk to me about something."

"Alright see ya." I went to my locker putting all the things I don't need until later or I don't need them at all. 

"Hey Sam." Damn his british accent. For some reason I feel weird. "Hey Matty."

"Can I sit with you today?"

"I don't know...the table I usually sit in is always full." I honestly do want him to sit with me but I don't know how the others will feel about this. We usually talk about guys and how our ships are going.

"Are you that popular ir something?"

"No its mostly Maribel's guy friends or cousins." Which is true. Maribel's family is all over the city. Believe me, every time we are in a car, she spots at least 20 people from her family in two streets.

Me and Matty started walking to lunch together. I swear we looked like a couple."Big family."

"One fourth of them live in the city. The others are either in Mexico, Chicago, or California."

"Damn thats a lot." We see Maribel hugging a guy and talking to each other then entered the cafeteria. "I didn't know she had a boyfriend."

"Believe me Matty that was not her boyfriend but thats either her nephew or cousin." We walked in the cafeteria and I saw the table I usually sit at. "Come on, sit with us."

Maribel's friends and cousins haven't came yet so that was good. Except that Collin sits at the table next to ours. I guess I spoke to soon since the guys practically ran and shoved to sit down. "Sorry forgot to warn you."

Maribel had soda can in her hands and so did Jake. "Alright whos ready for a celebration!" Then there were roars. "Maribel!", I scolded,"We have a guest sitting with us so quiet down!" I guess I yelled to loud because the whole cafeteria went silent. Oh shit. I looked around and saw Collin looking at me weird.

"Sorry Sam." The cafeteria got loud again thank god.

"Its ok but it would be nice if you guys were quiet just for one day."

"Ok guys you heard her. But we are still celebrating with drinks!" I ignored her for the rest of the day by talking to Matty.

We laughed and all that stuff but during our conversation I was about to call him Collin. I ignored that too. He asked me about life and what are my favorite things. Yeah just a normal conversation that I can never have with Collin.

I like Matty's company but not as much as Collin's.
