Chapter 18: Jenga!

Sam's pov

I got to science but our science teacher was running late. "Your fucking shipping me with Jose!" I heard Maribel yell.

I run up to the mini crowd of our class. I push my way to the middle and see Maribel and Keith there.

Maribel keeps kicking and punching Keith but I pull her back. "What are you doing?!"

"Keith is shipping me with Jose!" She said.

I knew how much this means to her. They had a lot bad history so I let her at him. Although they would look cute together but then there's Jake.

I stood back and saw Collin. He stood next to me. He nudged my arm. I looked up and smiled at him.

We both leaned against each other's arm. I felt like putting my head on his shoulder but Jake went through me and Collin. We immediately got next to each other again. I swear I heard him chuckled.

"Maribel what's wrong?"

"Keith is fucking shipping me with Jose!"

"Ok first stop hurting Keith because I know you don't want to get suspended. Second you can beat him up after school.."

"The fuck Jake!?" Keith yelled.

"Sorry dude. You brought this upon yourself. And third we need to talk." But Maribel wouldn't listen, she was ready to beat the shit out of Keith. That's when Jake hugged Maribel calming her down. Once she did the teacher finally came.

"Sorry class I was trying to find the games for your reward day."

We entered class and Maribel asked,"We have a reward day?"

"Oh yeah. When you went to Washington D.C. for the March For Life thing, that was supposed to be the day of our reward day but I ask the teacher if we could have it today since you weren't here."

"Aw really? Thanks! Your the best."

"Don't forget her handsome and best athlete brother." I looked and saw it was Jake. Thanks for ruining the moment.

"Maribel can we tal-" He was interrupted by Collin. "Who wants to play Jenga!" Collin should have never asked. Maribel is a competitive person. "Oh my gosh me! I love Jenga! Sam, Jake wanna play!?"

I swear she gets excited over anything. "Sure."

"I'd do anything just to spend time with you.", Jake muttered. I patted his shoulder. "Maybe she'll finally realize you like her one day."

So there we were Jake, Maribel, Collin, Keith, Matty and me all huddled around the jenga tower.

I was third and Maribel was second Matty was fourth, Collin was first then Jake and finally Keith.

It was just Me, Matty, Keith and Collin. I was my turn and my hands were shaky.

But to make it even worse Collin leaned down next to my ear and whispered "Don't mess up, Don't mess up, Don't mess up"

I could feel his breath hitting my neck and I would tell him ok but if I moved my face our lips would touch and i don't want that in science. Plus it would be our second kiss. But in his mind, it would be our first.

I ended up being the winner and the bell rung. I went to my locker and got my things. I waited for the rest of my friends. (Annemarie,Ellie,Alice and Maribel)

We got out then started walking. Collin ran in front of us then turned back and stared at me while he walked.

He bumped into a kid. Classic I thought. I wondered if he did like me. Then I remembered Maribel telling me she was going to talk to Collin two days ago.

"Hey Maribel. Did you talk to Collin."

"Today? No why?"

"No two days ago."

"W..what? I..I don't recall that. Um I have to go. Bye." And like that she ran away. But why would she keep that a secret?

Maribel's pov

Two days ago I got the truth out of him. There may have been some torture but anyway Collin likes Sam!! But he wants to tell Sam himself. I asked him about him hugging Gemma.

He face palmed himself telling me he was asking her for advice and there was nothing going on between them. He also told me that Matty likes Sam a lot. But that he's been planning to ask her out for a long time but he was scared of rejection.

I told him to grow up and ask her. Apparently he also had help from Annemarie and she said the same thing. I just hopes he asks her out before Matty does.
