Chapter 20: Wait

Collin's pov

I couldnt wait I had to tell Sam how I feel. I ran up to Ellie

"Ellie wheres Sam?"

"She going out with Matt-" No I knew it. Im too late.

I started running to find them but Ellie kept trying to tell me something but honestly I don't care, I need Sam.

I ran and tried to find Sam and Matty. I finally found them walking to a tree. My stomach and lungs started burning.

I had to keep running. I swear it was like that part in a movie where time slows down.

"No wait!" I said then I tripped and tackled Matty. "Matty!" Sam said as she helped him up.

I got up by myself. "What is wrong with you" Matty said. I never really noticed he had a British accent which scores him a bonus point. Damn it.

"Are you two dating?" I asked them out of breath. "No Collin we aren't"  Sam said.

"Why do you care?" Matty said.

"I just thought that..."

"That what?" Sam shot back.

"Nevermind" I said and started walking away but Sam pulled me back. "No Collin you cant just leave like that ok? All you have been doing is running away from me!"

"Do you love Matty?!" I yell.

"Collin why do you even care!" Sam yelled back.

"Sam... Sam I like you ok? There I said it. All these things that I have been doing, you and Matty, me running away. All because I like you!"

Matty looked shocked. "Wow man I never thought you would do it." he smiled.

"What do you mean Matty?" Sam asked him.

"Sam its pretty obvious I like you too." Matty said.

Sam just shook her head. "So now what. Two of my "friends" like me. So I have to choose and then the other one is just left there..." she started shaking her head.

"I can't deal with this ok." Sam said walking away.

"Great now she's mad at us." I said

"Us? I'm pretty sure she's mad at you because maybe if you didn't tell her you like her the same week I asked her out, she wouldn't be upset!"

"Ok but still its our fault because we are putting all this pressure on her." I said.

"Fine but who ever she picks, no matter what, we will still be friends and the other guy will leave the couple alone, deal?"

"I don't know. We'll talk about this tomorrow because I have to go home." I said.

"Alright see you later Collin."

"See ya..." I walked until I was away from earshot. "...loser because she's gonna pick me."

I've known her longer and we've been friends way longer than her and Matty. I seriously need help with this or it will turn into a disaster. I took out my phone to call the only person that can help me.

"Hello?"

"Hey Annemarie, I need your help."I said.

"What did you do this time?"

"Matty asked Sam out and I confessed I liked her. Now she's upset and under a lot of pressure to either pick me or Matty."

"You idiot! I told you to ask her out before its too late but being the idiot you are, you didn't!" Wow, thats harsh.

"I know but I was wondering if you can help me get her to pick me?"

"Sorry Collin. I can't do that she's my best friend...you are on your own." And like that she hanged up on me. So I called Maribel.

"Hey Collin."

"How did you know it was me?"

"I might have been walking by while your chat with Matty and its rude to call someone loser."

"So can you help me?"

"I would but its up to Sam. But here's a tip: try to talk with her about this or find Matty a girl. I advise you do the first. Got to go bye"

"Thanks." I guess that was a little helpful but oh well. I'm home alone so I decided to plan what I'll do tomorrow. Hopefully she'll pick me. I can't lose her.

But will she pick Matty? What if she does...then who will I be with? Damn it! Why? If she picks Matty then who will I like now? Sam was the only person I really, really like, not like those stupid crushes back in elementary and middle school. Well now I can't do anything. Its up to Sam now.
