Hey guys, I'm sorry of the last few chapters are short, I was just happy to post three in one day, i already had two of them pre-written cuz if any of you have your own stories, you know how when you get an idea for a chapter later on? well ya, that happened to me so I wrote them down so I wouldn't forget so yay! be happy, three more chapters yay, happy fans :) so anyway, enjoy these chapters, the next one is going to be in amy's POV so look forward to that, yay :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

CHAPTER 14

"I'm all ears" I said looking up at him. He was at least six inches taller than me. I was five three, two inches shorter than my mom, while he was at least five nine or six foot.

He took a deep breath before talking. I was still sitting in his lap. "Well, first off, yes, that man is my dad" he said grimacing

"If he's your dad then why are you stuck here with me?" I asked brushing a piece of hair put of his face

"Well, I already told you, I'm glad I'm here with you and second, I've been here for quite a while"

"But why? If you're his son then why would he do this to you?"

"Well it started when I was a little boy. I was two and my mom cheated on my dad and had an affair with some guy from a bar. She ended up being pregnant but didn't tell me dad it wasn't his baby. After he was born, she let it slip that she slept with another guy and my dad got furious. My mom left with my brother and left me with my dad"

"So your mom cheated on your dad and then she left you with your dad and took your brother with you?"

He sighed again. "Yes, she left me with my dad. After she left my dad got depressed and started getting more violent. He started drinking and doing drugs and he ended up abusing me."

I gasped and he gave me a small smile and looked down. "I'm sorry Jace" I said and kissed his cheek. "You don't deserve this"

He sighed. "Well, there's more"

I stay quiet and he continued

"After a few years of my mom being gone, my dad decided it would be fun to torture me. He beat me and all sorts of horrible things. Finally, he just settled on throwing me in here. I've been in here for three years. That's why I was so happy when you came, I finally had someone to talk to and when you just rejected me like that I was sad I blew my chances of having a friend." He paused and smiled. "Well, I guess more than friends now" he said smiling and quickly kissed my lips

I smiled too but it quickly faded. "I'm sorry Jace, you didn't deserve all of that happening to you"

"You don't deserve it either" he said stroking my cheek with his thumb. "I don't know why you're here but I'm glad you are. I don't mean to sound selfish because you lost everything but I'm glad you're here with me" he said smiling and kissing my head

I smiled. "It makes me sad when I think of what I lost when they took my but now I have you"

"And I have you" he kissed me again and I smiled. If they had never taken me, I probably would have been stuck with Mark, but now I have Jace and I'm glad I do. I trusted him and I knew he would protect me know matter what.

"Thank you for telling me that Jace" I said and broke away. "I know it must be hard for you to talk about it"

"Well, now you know" he said and smiled

"So do you remember much about your brother?"

"Well not much but I do remember he had brown hair and grey eyes"

That was strange. Mark had brown hair and grey eyes, it couldn't be him. "Do you remember his name?"

"No, not really, it sounded something like hark or Lark or something like that" he said shrugging.

"Oh" was all I said

"Is something wrong?" he asked looking at me with concern

"No, nothing, it's just, well...never mind"

"Ok" he said and smiled lightly. "So, tell me what life was like back at your home before my man whore of a dad took you?" he said turning me in his lap so I was facing him

I sucked in a breath. I hadn't thought about my family or friends for a while, not since I got to know Jace, he turned out to be a really kind and caring boy.

"If you don't want to talk about it, it's ok, you don't have to" he said looking at me

"No, it's fine. Well, my mom is a famous Broadway and right now, she's pregnant with my little brother, his name is going to be Flynn, you know that. My dad is a lawyer. Um, I don't see my family much, only on holidays. I have an uncle named Daniel, he's awesome. And then there's Mark, he's this really sweet funny, amazing guy, he's my neighbor and was really my only friend."

Jace was looking at the wall behind me deep in thought, finally, he spoke

"You wouldn't be talking about Mark Howards would you?" he asked scooting closer to me

"Yes, why?" Mark was my friend from back home, how did Jace know him?

"Carmen, that's my brother"
