CHAPTER 38

We boarded the plane after about a half hour and a whole lot of thank you's later. I was so grateful that Daniel was going to help us; I don't think I could ever repay him for something like this. I leaned onto Jace chest and he put his arm around my shoulders. I smiled and saw out of the corner of my eye, Daniel looking at us with a smile on his face

"What?" I said playfully

"You two are so cute together" he said and laughed

I blushed and buried my head into Jace chest. I felt Jace laugh.

"Thank you for this Daniel, it really means a lot to us" said Jace

"No problem, I know you and Carmen are doing this out of love and I admire that"

I looked up from Jace's chest and smiled at Daniel who in turn smiled back

Jace grabbed my left wrist and lifted it up. He smiled at the bracelet and put my wrist back down

"You kept it on?"

"Of course, I needed something to remember you by" I said and smiled

I grabbed the dog tag around his neck and let it drop out of my fingers

"And you kept this?"

He nodded. "It was all I had left of you" he said and smiled

I laughed. "I had something else too. It was the only picture I had of us. My parents got rid of the rest"

"Really? Can I see it?"

I nodded and pulled the picture out of my pocket. I would have put it in my bag but I didn't want to take the risk of it getting lost. I handed it to Jace and he smiled

"This is the only picture you had?" he said smiling even bigger

"Yeah" I bit my lip and looked down. When I looked back up, I saw Jace's face was a few centimeters in front of mine

I smiled "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like? I'm leaning in to kiss you" he said and smirked

 "Oh, well, then um..." I said biting my lip

"You know, when you do that, no matter how cute it is, it restricts me from doing what I want to" he said coming closer so our lips were brushing

"What you want?" I said laughing "What about what I want?" I said raising an eyebrow

"Do you want me to kiss you?" he said smiling

"I'll have to think about it" I said smiling back

"Well make it fast because I'm getting impatient"

"Ok fine go ahead" I said closing my eyes. I never felt his lips touch mine so I opened my eyes. Jace was still a few centimeters away from my face smirking at me

I made a pouty face and he chuckled

"You took too long to decide"

I opened my mouth to protest but he quickly leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine.

I smiled and kissed him back. We moved our lips in sync and he moved his hand to cup my cheek. I smiled and I felt him smile too. We were finally on our way to spending the rest of our lives together.

We got off the plane and got our bags. Daniel led us outside and up to a blue car. He gestured for us to get inside and Jace and I got into the backseat. Daniel started the ignition and drove off. I'd been to Daniel's house before and it was about a forty five minute drive from the airport but it seemed really short. Jace and I just made out in the backseat the whole time.
