CHAPTER 25

I was sitting on the floor trying my best to cover myself from Mark, waiting for Jace to get back. He had been gone for almost a half hour and I was starting to get really worried. What if they caught him and took him? What if he left without us? As if knowing how worried I was, Mark walked over to me pacing and put a hand on my shoulder

"He'll be back soon, don't worry" he said softly

I turned around and glared at him. I was still pissed at him.

He took his hand off my shoulder and walked back to where he was mumbling under his breath

I went back to my pacing and pulled the shirt down further trying to cover myself. I had my underwear on but I still didn't want Mark to see anything or even look at me.

I heard the door creak open then close. I turned around and saw Jace standing there smiling

I ran up to him and threw my arms around his neck hugging him

"Jace I was so worried about you! I thought they took you or you left me with him!" I said emphasizing the word him, referring to Mark

He chuckled and hugged me back. "I would never leave you Carmen, especially not with Mark and I got you clothes"

I pulled away from out embrace and he held out a bundle of clothes. I saw he was wearing a new shirt and pants so I guessed he took some stuff for himself too

"Thank you" I said and kissed his cheek

"Any time" he said and smiled

I walked over to one of the far corners of the room and look at what Jace brought me. Khaki shorts, a green v-neck t-shirt and black vans. He even got me pink underwear and a white bra; I was surprised to see that everything was my size.

"Jace!" I called

I turned around to see he was standing right behind me blushing

I laughed and kissed his cheek

"Thanks" I said and smiled

"I, I didn't know what to get you so I just grabbed what looked like your size. My dad had a lot of girlfriends in the past few years so there was a lot to choose from"

I laughed again. "Well, you guessed right, they are my size"

"Oh, well...um, good" he said blushing again

"Can you stand in front of me while I change so Mark doesn't see?" I said blushing in return

Now he laughed.

"Of course" he turned around and blocked me from Marks sight

I turned to face the wall and took off the shirt Jace lent me and my filthy underwear. I put on the replacement bra and underwear and slipped on the shirt and shorts. I put on the shoes and combed my fingers through my long brown hair. When I was done, I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck from behind

"All done" I said and stood on my toes to kiss his cheek

He turned around and smiled

"You look good" he said looking me over

I giggled. "Thanks"

"Well if you two are done being all romantic, I'd like to get out of here" said Mark, walking over to us

I scowled at him and turned to Jace

"Ok, I took this watch and it's almost noon so if it takes an hour or two, we should be able to get out of here by three at the latest, then we can all go get help" he said looking hopeful
