CHAPTER 27

We sat there for five hours. I explained everything from who took me, why they took me, who Jace was, what happened between Jace and I, all about Mark and what a jerk he was, who Jace's dad was, why he was who he was, my mom froze when I got to the part where he almost raped me. I started to cry too but Jace comforted me enough to calm down and finish telling about what happened. When I was finally done, my parents sat there in shock. Finally, my mom walked up to Jace and I and hugged us both

"Carmen, I'm so sorry all of this happened to you. And Jason..."

"Jace" he corrected

"Sorry, Jace, I'm really sorry about what happened to you too. Obviously, you didn't deserve all of this."

Jace gave her a small smile "Thank you Mrs. Parker"

My mom smiled and walked back to my dad.

"Well, we have Jason here's dad on out wanted list and were sending out people to scope out the address Jace told us" said the officer

I nodded and looked down

"Thank you for all of your help officer. We'll happily take Carmen back into our hands now" said my mom happily

"Well alright mam but there's one more thing. Jason here had nowhere to go. Obviously he can't go back to his dad of his mom so we were wondering if you would be willing to take him into your custody" he said standing up

My mom and dad exchanged worried looks. "Well, um, could you give us a minute?" said my mom grabbing my dad's hand

The officer nodded and my mom and dad walked into the other room

I turned to Jace with a worried look

"Jace, what if they font let you stay? I don't think I can be without you"

"I don't know Carmen but if worse comes to worse, we'll find a way" he said kissing me on the lips softly. He pulled away and smiled

I smiled back and pulled his head back to mine. "I know we will" I said against is lips

"Carmen?" said my mom's voice

I pulled away from Jace and turned to see my mom looking at me with a worried look

"Yeah mom?" I said in a worried tone

She gestured to me to come over. I got off Jace and stood up

"Well we talked" she said glancing at my dad "And we decided that Jace can stay."

I smiled and turned to look at Jace who was now standing up and smiling

"We figured that since he had such a bad childhood and because he's so important to you, he can stay with us" she said smiling

"Thank you!" I said running up to them and hugging them

I ran back to Jace, who spun me around and kissed me. I kissed him back and smiled

"Well then I best be on my way" said the officer

"Thank you so much sir" said my mom

He nodded and walked out the front door, closing it behind him

My mom and dad turned to us with worried looks on their faces

Jace and I took a step away from each other.

"I'm sorry sweetie" sighed my dad

I shook my head and looked down

"No, it's ok, none of this is your fault" I said, tears falling down my face
