CHAPTER 35

The driver pulled up to the front of the foster home.

"Thank you" I said

I paid him and got out.

He drive off and I turned to face the building

I couldn't believe it! I was finally going to see Jace. I smiled and walked up to the front doors of the building. There was a lady sitting at a desk typing on a computer. I walked up to her

"Hi, how can I help you?" she said happily

"Hi, I'm here to visit Jason Howards"

"Jason Howards?" she said it with a worried look on her face

"Yes, is there a problem?" I said getting worried

"No, no, no it's just that...well, Jason hasn't been the most friendly with the other boys. He always got into fights and well, never mind" she said looking down

"Oh..." Jace got into fights? "Well is he here?" I said getting antsy

"Yes, one minute, let me check. Most of the older boys went to see the statue of liberty today so he might not be here..." she said trailing off while looking on her computer

Oh great! The one day I finally got away to see him, he might not be here! Just perfect, I don't know how I was going to manage to get out again! if my parents found out they would probably kill me

"Oh, yes, Jason is here, he's up on the fifth floor in room 5-C" she said looking up from her computer

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Ok, thank you"

"No problem, you can take the elevator over there if you want" she said pointing behind me

"Thank you" I said again and walked to the elevator.

I pushed the number five and tried to calm myself down. I was finally going to see Jace! Every second in the elevator felt like an hour. When it finally dinged I got out and stepped into the long hallway.5-C, where was room 5-C? I looked at the sigh on the wall. It said 5-C was to the right.

I walked to the right. 4-D, 5-A, 5-B, I looked for 5-C but I didn't see it.

There was a little corner near room 4-D. I took it and there was a door. It read 5-C. I smiled to myself and turned the handle. It clicked open and I was nearly jumping out of my skin. I walked in and closed the door behind me. I turned around and the sight I saw filled me with horror

I screamed

"Jace!"

*******JACE'S POV*******

All of the boys had left and I had everything ready. I had the rope tied from the bed and I was standing in front of it facing the door. I took a deep breath. At least doing this would put me out of my pain from being away from Carmen and being teased by all of the other boys. I took a step forward so my neck was right in front of the loop. I heard the door open but I ignored it; no one was stopping me from doing this. Hopefully I would be with Carmen soon after this.

"Jace!"

I could already hear her voice calling to me

I smiled stuck my head out

"Jace! Don't do it!" screamed the voice

I ignored it

"JACE! DON'T DO IT! IT'S ME CARMEN!" screeched the voice

I wanted to look over to the door because the voice did sound like Carmen but I was probably imagining it. Why would Carmen come here?

"JACE!" the voice screamed again
