CHAPTER 32
*******CARMEN'S POV*******
I woke up in next to Jace. He had his arms wrapped around my waist and I had a leg slung over his waist.
I looked around me and saw we were lying in the guest room bed. I sighed; this is the day Jace was leaving. I don't know how I was going to make it by without Jace there. I put my head in his chest. I felt him move slightly next to me and I looked up to see him staring at me lovingly.
"Good morning" he said stroking my hair
"What's so great about it?" I mumbled dryly
"I know Carmen but let's make the best out of it" he said sadly
I nodded. "I better get out of here before my parents walk in and send me to a boarding school"
He smiled sadly
I sat up and got off the bed. Jace did the same and walked up behind me, putting his arms around my waist
I relaxed and leaned back onto him.
"I love you" he whispered
"I'm going to miss hearing that" I sighed sadly
"Yeah, me too"
"Well, let's get the rest of your stuff ready"
"Ok" we walked into his closet and started grabbing his stuff
I grabbed a stack of clothes and turned to bump into Jace's chest
We both gave sad smiles and I turned back around
"Carmen!" I heard my mom's voice call
I walked out of the closet holding the stack of clothes and saw my mom standing in the doorway of the room
"Yes mom" I sighed sadly
"What were you doing in there?" she asked raising an eyebrow
"Nothing mom, I'm helping Jace get the rest of his stuff together" I said sadly
"Well then where's Jace" she said taking a step into the room
Jace walked out of the closet holding a pile of clothes like I was
"Good morning Mrs. Parker" said Jace coming to stand next to me
She crossed her arms over her chest
"Good morning Jace. Finish getting your stuff together. We leave in a half hour" she said and walked out of the room
"Wow" said Jace
"Seems kind of paranoid right?" I said sadly
"Yeah" he agreed
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw my mom's head sticking out from the side of the door
I gave her a glare
"Just checking" she said and walked away
I shook my head sadly
"I really am sorry for what happened the other night. I never meant for this to happen" he said sadly
"No Jace, it wasn't your fault, it was mine too"
"No Carmen, you have nothing to be sorry for. I hate to say this but honestly, it's your parents for not trusting you. I mean, you're responsible and I never would have let that happen anyway"
"Yeah, I know. I can't believe they didn't trust me"
"It's ok Carmen, we'll find a way"
"I hope so" I said sadly. "Do you have all of your things?"
