CHAPTER 36
When we were done kissing, Jace pulled away and gave a sad smile
"I thought I lost you" he whispered
"I thought I lost you too Jace, its hell without you there. I just lock myself in my room all day and I barley talk to my parents anymore" I said looking down
"It was hell without you too Carmen. All I did all day was sit on my bed and all of the other boys did was make fun of me" he said grimacing
"I'm sorry Jace. This is all my fault" I said stroking his cheek with my thumb
"Carmen" he said sighing. "Will you stop saying that?! None of this is your fault!" he said angrily
My eyes widened and he sighed
"I'm sorry" he said sadly. "Carmen, I can't be without you again. Not after this, I need you in my life otherwise, there's really no reason for living as I guess you saw" he said grimacing again
"Jace, I can't be without you again either not after this. I physically need to be without you. My mom even said I was depressed but I don't know why she's so worried about me anyway, she caused this" I said looking angrily at the wall behind Jace
"Carmen, calm down, it's ok" he said stroking my hair
"No Jace, it's not ok!" I said looking back at him. "We can't keep living like this. We need each other and not because of being beaten by your dad but now we just have to be together. It's not possible to be apart anymore" I said sadly
He sighed too and moved to the side so he wasn't hovering over me against the wall anymore. "Let's sit down; we need to talk about this"
He grabbed my hand and pulled my over to the bed with the rope hanging on it. He sat down and patted his knee gesturing for me to sit down
I sat down in between his legs and he put his arms around my waist. I turned to see his face. He had a sad look but I didn't blame him
"What are we going to do Carmen?" he said sadly. "I mean, we can't be without each other and your parents probably still don't want you around me"
"Yeah they still think you're a bad influence. They've been trying to get me to get over you but it's just not working. That's the reason I couldn't come see you earlier. Every time I tried to come or even call, my parents wouldn't let me."
"Then how did you get here?"
"I snuck out of the window in my room and locked the door. I took a cab here"
"I'm glad you came" he said smiling. "I was beginning to think you didn't care anymore. The head of out dorm even sent me to a counselor and he said I was in denial. Now I'm starting to believe him"
"Jace, I could never stop caring" I said smiling. "I'm glad I came to otherwise..." I trailed off
"So what are we going to do Carmen?" he said changing the subject
I looked down for a minute thinking. What were we going to do? We couldn't visit each other because of my parent's. Maybe we could...
"I know!" I said turning around and wrapping my legs around his waist
"What?" he said looking hopeful
"We could run away. I could leave my parents and we could go somewhere where it would be just us." I said and smiled
"Carmen, you just got your family back and all of your friends. You can't leave all of that, not for me"
"Jace, I can't be without you, not again, it was hell and besides I don't talk to my parents or my friends anymore, not since I didn't have you. This time it's my choice Jace, and I pick you" I said kissing him on the lips lightly
