The week trial went amazingly. He managed to befriend all of his co-workers, and now they are all get along well. They know each other, and trust each other's skills, which is mainly one of the best things to know about a co-worker, since they are a team. He also managed to be known to most of the kids who come over regularly. He made himself trustful to the parents, and he's glad he is on everyone's good side. He's sure one or two of the kids are jealous about how he can take everyone's attention, and is authoritative, but he's sure they'll come around soon.
Going to boxing on the Saturday morning before work was dreadful. He always loved doing boxing, and his parents had always thought he'd pursue a career in it, but he was just so unsure. Did he really want the risk of permanent head injuries? Did he want brain damage? Anything that will stop him from living normally? He has the same doubts about it that Shuuzenji had talked to him about, and whilst he loves it enough to do it weekly, he doesn't know if he wants to do it all the time.
He didn't feel much better when he went to work after boxing, and he can't help but feel like something isn't right. He's become friends with everyone, he is liked by the majority of the kids, and the parents have no complaints about it. What could he ask for more? What could make it more... right? His heart ached when the boxing session ended, and it ached even more as he walked with Tetsutetsu to his workplace, since it was a few streets away. He knew that Tetsutetsu could feel his anxiousness, but he is thankful that he didn't comment on it, instead deciding to ramble about the worst restaurants in the area, hushing his voice when they past them.
When he got to work, he got ready, and greeted everyone in the staff's common room. They were playing card games together, since the kids all went to school already, and they had a couple hours before they would arrive here again. He joined their game eagerly, and they all laughed and had fun, until they got more serious when the time to work properly came.
The kids were all cheerful about their school day, and many helped them with their homework since sometimes it is easier to do it at daycare than at home. Kirishima wasn't much help, so he tried his best by using the notes they had, and he tried his best to not embarrass himself, but he knew some maths, so he could at least do addition and subtractions. And his trusty calculator phone helped too. Even if that is cheating. He is trying to not give a bad example.
When all the kids got picked up, they all sighed in relief. They had a good day at work, and Hagakure made that clear when she cheered with orange juice again.
"We made it through the week! And, welcome to the team, Kirishima," she grinned, clinking her cup with his.
He blinked. "Huh?"
"You are officially hired," she said, more clearly, giggling in amusement at his bewildered state.
"What?! Really?" he asked, his lips extending into a grin so wide that it reached his ears. "Are you sure?" he asked then, more quietly.
"Of course!" she laughed. "You were amazing, and you had like, zero complaints! The only thing you're bad at is helping them with homework, but that's nothing," she shrugged, chuckling.
"Thanks," he smiled, deadpanning a bit. "I'm really happy," he grinned, genuinely glad he actually has a proper job with a proper salary.
"I'm glad," she smiled, giving him more orange juice. "Tomorrow's our day off, so let's cheer to that too," she chuckled.
Everyone cheered, and then cleaned up the building before leaving. Kirishima almost skipped home, so happy that he finally has a proper job after many years of being on and off. He's lucky that his landlord doesn't mind if he pays the rent late. Speaking of his landlord...
