The next morning, Kirishima managed to tack up Prince correctly, with only a bit of help to adjust and tighten most of the straps. When they brought their horses to the manège, Bakugou began explaining his plan for the day.
"Unlike last year, the summer camp group is separated in two," he started, sighing as he crossed his arms, "but we don't have three indoor manèges," he said. "Since Uraraka needs one for the entire day, she needs to have one, but then this one here is between us and the other group," he explained. "We have outside ones, and since we are lucky with the weather, it doesn't mean we'll have to stop learning to let the other group take this manège. We have about two hours in here, and then we'll be outside the rest of the day," he shrugged. "I took the opportunity to have us practise more obstacle races, but we'll be doing that this afternoon then," he said. "You got that?" he asked.
"Uh... We'll be here for two hours, and then outside for the rest of the day?" he asked.
"Yeah. We might finish early since the sun will be hitting us quite hard, and I hate sunburns," he growled lightly. "Alright. Get on Prince, and we'll practise on your gaits again," he said.
"Again?" he sighed, exasperated.
"Yeah," he nodded, almost grinning as Kirishima's tired state.
So that's what they did. They did rounds of walking to relax a bit, and then they trotted, and when Kirishima had enough of that, they galloped. It wasn't challenging, but Bakugou had mentioned something like stamina, and said it is very important. Kirishima knows his stamina is pretty good, especially since he can jog for two hours without stopping at least, but he doesn't know if he can last on a horse for just as long.
They didn't do the gaits for the full hours, instead also spending a bit of time talking more into the specifics. Bakugou talked about the 'beats' of a gait, and he lost Kirishima a couple times, but he managed to get the information in Kirishima's mind after beating it into him. He also talked about more gaits. He demonstrated the canter gait, and while Kirishima was a bit confused at it, Bakugou explained the difference, and Kirishima got it a bit, but he knows he won't be doing it himself, mostly because he finds it too complicated, and he can barely handle a trot, so how could he handle a canter?
At some point, when Bakugou was explaining something about galloping, Midoriya and Iida came up to them with their own horses. Kirishima pet Sonic and One For All, and then he even pet the ponies from the group they are teaching.
"We need the manège," said Midoriya, standing up straight.
"We are still using it," growled Bakugou, standing up even straighter, and raising his chin.
"I don't care. We had an arrangement," he said.
"Um, the two hours passed?" asked Kirishima, looking up from one of the ponies, who was called Ice Cream for some reason.
"I-" Bakugou frowned, and checked his phone. "We still have two minutes," he snarled.
"So what?" shrugged Midoriya. "Same thing," he said.
"I don't agree," said Iida. "How about we relax for those two minutes, and instead act civil-"
"We are being civil," said Midoriya, glaring at Bakugou back.
"You guys are arguing telepathically," guessed Kirishima. "You can't change my mind," he immediately stated once Bakugou sent him a questioning stare.
Bakugou clicked his tongue, and then crossed his arms. "Whatever, I don't care," he muttered. "What have you been teaching them anyway?" he asked, glancing at the kids who are staring at him with amazement, well, one of them seemed to be scared of him. He doesn't recognise that one, so that kid probably already knew horse riding, but wasn't there last summer.
