While checking my patients, 'di ako tinigilan ni Jayna dahil hindi raw siya kumbinsido sa sagot ko. 'Eh, okay lang naman talaga si Dionne sa akin.

"Hindi siya gwapo sa paningin mo?", she asked while I am checking the vitals of my patient.

"Gwapo"

Lumipat naman ako sa isa pang hospital bed kung nasa'n nakahiga ang isa pang pasyente. I checked the IV and his vitals as well. "Yie, 'di hot?", Jayna asked.

"Sakto lang", I answered while continue doing my job.

"Liar! Ang hot niya kaya", Jayna hissed.

I looked at her. "Edi sana ikaw sumagot", I told her.

"Ano nga, Dr. Colonel?", she asked again. Ba't ba ang kulit nito? "Hottie?".

Nang makarating ako sa desk, pinatong ko na muna ang data na hawak-hawak ko. Hindi pa rin siya tumitigil sa kakatanong.

"Ikaw ba hindi mo gagawin ang trabaho mo?", I eyed her. She smiled at me like an idiot, I rolled my eyes.

"Sabihin mo muna kung hottie si Dr. Fracio", she insisted while shaking her brows.

"Para kang tanga", sabi ko sa kaniya.

"Sabihin mo na!"

"Hindi mo ba talaga ako titigilan?", I asked her.

She shrugged. "If you tell me what I want to hear".

"Gwapo at hottie si Dr. Fracio", I told her with a bored eyes. Fe, Karlos and Jayna almost shout dahil sa sinabi ko. Hindi ko na sila pinansin at inayos na lang ang data na meron ako.

"What did you just said, Dr. Colonel?", I almost freeze by hearing his voice. Fuck, narinig niya ba? Shit! Shit! Shit! Hindi ko siya magawang lingunin, fuck, bakit ang init dito? "Look at me", he said. No! Fucking, no! Why would I? Ugh!

"Tingnan mo raw siya, girl", Jayna teased me. Hahampasin ko sana siya pero nakaiwas si bruha. Ugh! Humarap ka na, Thasia.

Totoo naman na gwapo at hot siya. Shit!

I faced him with my brow raised. "What do you want?", I asked him. He gave me a smile, a grin to be exact. "Ano? May trabaho pa 'ko, alis!", binangga ko pa siya but his just fast. He hold my wrist kaya napatingin ako sa kaniya. Halos matumba pa ako dahil sa bilis ng aksyon niya.

"Narinig ko 'yun", he almost whispered. Agad ko siyang tinulak dahil marami na ang nakatingin sa amin. I fixed my white gown and composed myself well.

Tinaasan ko siya ng noo. "So what? I lied. Hindi ka naman gwapo", I lied. Shocks! I sounded defensive!

He smirked. "You're blushing, Thasia", he said.

Pinakiramdaman ko ang pisngi ko, mainit nga. "Mainit kasi. Alis nga!", then I stormed out of the ER. Fuck, nakakahiya. Nakakahiya talaga! Why did I acted that way again?!

Pinakalma ko ang sarili ko, ang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko. I stayed for five minutes in my office then went back to the ER. Nakita ko pa ang mapangasar na ngiti ni Jayna sa akin, gusto ko tuloy siya batuhin ng stethoscope para maalis ang ngiti niyang gano'n.

"We have an emergency patient", a paramedic informed us while pushing a stretcher. Agad kong dinaluhan ang pasyente. "She is nine months pregnant, she has stab wounds on her right abdomen. Her vitals are unstable", she told us. Kami ni Dionne ang tumulong sa pagtulak ng stretcher.

"Let's transfer her here", I commanded. In a count of three, we transfered the woman. I checked her vitals and gave her an IV fluids. Her vitals are unstable, her bloods are dropping. "Prepare a blood that compatible to her", I told Dr. Fracio. He nodded at me then get a packs of blood.

"Get a sonogram please", then Nurse Karlo quickly get the machine. It is a machine to see an image of the patient's internal organs, blood, blood vessels and tissues. It helps us to see the baby on her womb as well. As I examine her womb, the baby's vital is stable but he needs to be deliver by now.

"The vitals of the patient are still unstable, doc", Dr. Fracio said.

"We need to open her now", I told them. "Can you please check an OR now? We need to open her now to deliver her baby", I looked at Nurse Karlo.

He nodded at me then checked an OR. The woman suddenly hold my hands. "Save my baby, kahit wag na ako. Save my baby", she said, sobbing. I hold her hands too.

"Save yourself and your baby", I told her.

Nang makabalik si Nurse Karlo, hindi agad siya nakapagsalita dahil sa hingal. "Doc, the OR are now closed even though there is no patient. It's exclusive for VIP patients ordered by the head department", he informed us.

Halos lamunin ako ng inis dahil sa balitang 'yon. What the fuck are they thinking. VIP patients?! Wala na ba sila sa tamang pagiisip?

"Doc, the mother is unstable", Dr. Fracio said.

"We will open her now", I told them. Nagulat sila dahil sa sinabi ko. "Let's move her to the hybrid room", then we immediately moved her to the hybrid room.

"Doc, are you sure about this?", Dr. Fracio asked.

I looked at him with a serious one. "Yes", I answered. "Scalpel", I ordered. Nagalangan pa si Nurse Karlo na ibigay ang scalpel sa akin. I looked at him. "I said, scalpel", I vehemently said. Nagaalangan pa rin siya, tinanguan siya ni Dr. Fracio kaya binigay na rin agad. I open the mother, the blood flows kaya pinunasan agad ni Nurse Karlo. "Retractor, please", I requested. Nurse Karlo gave me a retractor to widen the cut. I saw the womb and cut it with scalpel.

"Vitals are still unstable", Dr. Fracio said. Nang makita ko na ang ulo ng bata, I hold it with my two hands. "Prepare the towel for the baby", I said. I successfully get the child.

It's a boy. When I putted him in the towel that Nurse Karlo is holding, we didn't hear his cries. Please, baby, cry. Cry, please. Even though I want to focus on the situation of the baby, I need to heal the stab wounds of the mother. Buti na lang walang naiwang parte ng knife sa loob ng abdomen niya kaya mas napadali ang paggamot but I surely checked her well.

We heard the baby boy's cries. He's crying! Halos napatigil ako sa pagtatahi ng sugat ng nanay niya dahil sa tuwa nang marinig ko ang pag-iyak niya. They both survived.

"All stable, Dr. Colonel", Dr. Fracio said. Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. "We will moved her to the ICU now as well as the baby", he added. I nodded at him then they moved the mother and baby.

I disposed my gloves. Naalala ko na naman ang biglang pagsara ng OR dahil sa lintek na utos ng head. The anger started to rose up. Ano bang nasa isip nila para gawin 'yun? Halos may mamatay na dahil sa desisyon nila!

Paalis na sana ako ng ER at pupuntahan ang opisina ni Dr. Hermosa nang maramdaman ko na may humawak sa kamay ko. It's Dionne.

He looked at me softly. "Stay", he plead. Kitang-kita na siguro sa mga mata ko ang pinaghalong inis at galit dahil sa nangyari. Yes, both of the mother and child survived pero muntikan na silang mamatay!

I hold his hand and moved it. "I can't", I told him and storm out.

They are using their power for useless things. What? Exclusive for VIPs? They are all for money. Fuck all of them!
