I've finished all the baguettes. Mission day today. I can't ignore it now. It's time.

I'm extra jittery for this mission. I don't know why I'm so apprehensive. Oh, wait, I know. Maybe it's because of the f*cking fact it's another bloody brainwash mission. This one's to a much, much larger scale too.

In my hands, I have the most powerful brainwash machine we've ever built. Its signal can reach up to a mile radius. It's dangerous. Too dangerous. Too many families, too many lives will be affected by this sh*t. Innocent lives. Innocent families. This isn't what our goal was. This isn't why I'm supposed to be here.

The machine in my hand is destructive. It will cause more chaos than we could possibly handle. The mission I was initially sent on was to disturb the elites. It wasn't to get innocent people involved. It wasn't supposed to be like this.

Paul says, "It'll be fine." He says, "The more on our side the merrier." F*cking hell. I can smell his bullsh*t in England all the way here in France. He's corrupted himself. To him, our cause isn't about the greater good for the people. It's all about power now.

If I do this, he's one step closer to becoming an elite. If I don't do this, who knows what'll happen to me?! Paul's already f*cking pissed at me. He's upset because I've learned of this funny little thing called empathy, and I'm using that to talk back. Paul doesn't fancy back chat.

So, it's either innocent lives are dragged into this, or my own life is in danger. I don't think he'll hesitate to, well, you know. Maybe if I keep myself alive I'll have the opportunity to fix the mess he caused. But, for now, I'm doing this mission.

I paced around the room gathering my supplies. It's a simple mission. I'll be in and out right in an instant. The machine will activate itself at midnight. I just need to set it up. In the hours of waiting for it to go off, I can try and forget about the whole thing. Maybe I'll drink a few vodka and tonics to blur the night a little.

Getting into the tower is quite easy. They have a restaurant up there, so as long as I look nice and appear to have the money, they'll let me in. I've got on a nice dress shirt adorned with the finest leather jacket. Faux leather, of course. Got a nice pair of trousers too, deary. My my, I must say, I do look quite dapper in this. I admired my figure in the mirror, patting down all around my body.

"You're goddamn gorgeous, Mercury!" I praised myself in the mirror. I frowned. "Too bad you've got f*cked up plans. A shame such a beautiful man like you has such a harmful yet badass occupation."

I ruffled through my hair, fixing it to perfection before I exited the bathroom. I grabbed my backpack which contained the device, a belt containing and assortment of weaponry (just in case), and other miscellaneous items that may come in handy. Alright. I think I'm good to go.

As I rushed out the room, something on the desk caught my eye. I paused, catching myself at the doorway. I peered over my shoulder. Ah, the diary. I'll read the third entry when I get back. Duty calls.

I left the hotel, winking at the baggage boy in the lobby. He's a hunk, as I expected to see plenty here in France, but he isn't my type. I did catch him eyeing me when I first arrived, though. Oh dear! Someone must have a crush on this little assassin! How lovely.

The Eiffel Tower stood only a few blocks away from the hotel I was staying at. I haven't enjoyed an easy, brisk walk in a while. As far as I know, no one is chasing me right now, so it gives me time to enjoy my surroundings. I do have word that John, Roger, and Brian have arrived. They're ready to thwart my plans, so I have to stay on guard for them.

I fear this is the last time Paris may look so beautiful. If the plan works, I'd be the cause of the fall of on of the most gorgeous, serene cities in the world. I've done worse-- God, I have to stop that.
