GLOZELLE COLLINS
BREATHE, Glozelle. You can do this. You are raised and trained to be like this. Focus and breathe, Glozelle. You are better than this.
I took in a deep breath as I grip tightly on my bow and pull the string to shot an arrow. I tried to focus my attention at the target board but my hands are trembling. What's the matter, Glozelle? You are an archer! You can't just tremble like that!
"Shit!"
I decided to put down the bow and arrow I'm holding and closed my eyes. I didn't take the shot. I don't understand what's going on with me. I grew up being trained. I grew up using this weapon then why can't I take even just one freaking shot? This is so frustrating!
I massaged my temples and sighed before opening my eyes. Let's try again!
"Glozelle, if you can't do this shot, I swear you'll be dead meat! You are trained to be an archer for Pete's sake! Don't be a nitwit! Your dad didn't raised you up to be this stupid!"
I'm like a foolish woman getting mad and ranting on myself. I am just alone here in the training room because ever since my parents were murdered, I started living by myself. It was difficult at first but I have to survive.
I lifted my bow and arrow once again and closed my left eye to focus on the target. I also made sure my posture is correct. I pulled the string immediately to release to arrow. The arrow flew swiftly in the air before reaching and hitting the target board. I almost hit the bullseye. Almost.
I smiled despite not hitting the bullseye. At least, I still got it. At least, I know I can still be the archer my dad wants me to be.
"You have to train harder, Glozelle."
I pushed the intricately engraved button where my thumb is perfectly placed in the middle of the bow I'm holding. Fast like a lightning, the arrow I used a while ago plunged back to my direction. I don't even know where my Dad got this weapon but I am happy with it because I never ever experienced running out of arrows.
I raised my right hand to catch the arrow and when I caught it, a smile formed in my lips. That's enough for today. I am pressuring myself so much today. Maybe, that's the reason why I am trembling as I hold the bow earlier. I'm not like this before. My hand never tremble when I hold my bow. Well, I guess things change as time goes by.
I went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. I allowed my eyes roaming across the house and took in a deep breath. Since the death of my parents, this house seems to have been inherited and abandoned. It's too big because I'm just alone.
Simultaneously with the ringing of the doorbell, was the ringing of my phone. I quickly picked up my phone lying on the table then quickly answered the call.
"Miss Collins? You have a pizza delivery," the caller said the moment I answered the call.
"Wait, I'll go outside."
I took my wallet first in my bedroom and then went to the gate to get the pizza I ordered online. This is what I often eat. I just order online and wait for my food delivery every single day because I am too busy training to be better and stronger.
I don't even know why I keep on doing this. But I know and I feel the need to keep going with my trainings. I can cook but I chose not to. I sometimes feel lazy about it so I'll just order. That's just a waste of time anyway.
