GLOZELLE COLLINS
DEAREST Glozelle,
You wouldn't be reading this letter if I'm still alive. When I started working with the pack, I already knew that it may come to this point. I know I'll eventually die and they will kill me for working with the pack but I was never afraid. I was never afraid to continue doing it because I know it is for you and I am protecting you. You are my daughter and I cannot let anything bad happen to you. I hope you're doing well and that you're stronger now that you've grown up.You probably don't understand why we needed to have training while you're growing up and I actually can't disclose everything to you. Let me tell you though that this is for the best. This is to prepare you for whatever shit that may come in your way. You need to be strong enough to survive all the battles that are about to come. You're a very essential part of making sure that the pack remains protected. You're a key to the pack's victory against your generation's greatest enemy. You need to be ready for that. I know that you may not want this but this is what going to happen even if you try to get away from it.
I know for a fact that you will grow even stronger and you will be needing a more stable weapon. Inside this box is a key to a treasure chest placed on my room. You will see that under the bed. That weapon belongs to you. I know you will have a good time handling that weapon. You will do great, Glozelle.
Focus on your target and forget everything around it. Don't lose focus on what you are trying to achieve. Whatever may happen, you will achieve it.
I know it's been tough but it's meant to happen. You will get through this. I'm still here, watching you. My love for you will never end. Even if I'm gone already, you will still remain as my brave warrior. I love you.
Will always watch you from a far,
FatherI don't know what to react after reading the letter he left for me. He already knew he's going to die but didn't care about it and just continued what he thinks is right. Despite the risk, he didn't stop being a person in the right side of history and made sure to prepare me for whatever may happen. It is all because of me.
All my life I've been questioning the reason why we needed to train and be apart from other people. I've been asking myself why I can't have any friends. Now, I understand. It is all because of this battle. I needed to be prepared physically, emotionally, and mentally. The reason why he did not allow me to have friends is indeed because of collateral damage. He doesn't want me to think of backing out because of emotional attachment. People may say it's wrong but at this current situation, I say it's beneficial and an advantage.
"Thank you, Dad..." I whispered as I wipe my tears away and put back the letter inside the box.
I checked on what's inside the box as well to find the key he is referring to. Just like what he said, there is indeed a key inside of it and it is attached to a thick paper. I grabbed the key and put it inside of my pocket.
I didn't have the courage to open this box last night because I'm scared of finding out what's inside. I also wouldn't like to cry in front of them while we talk about more important matters.
"Hey, Glozelle!"
I averted my gaze and saw Aegean standing in the doorway. I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms. I don't remember leaving the door open.
"What?" I asked.
"Sorry for opening the door without knocking. Are you planning to go out?"
"Yes, I need to grab something from my house."
"Would that be quick? If what they told us last night is true, if there would be really an attack we need to be ready for the entire day."
"Why don't you accompany me to my house so I won't stay longer?" I asked.
