AEGEAN HALE
FILES just remained flashed on the screen of the surface table. We are all quiet after Glozelle left and declined our offer. If I can't convince her now to join us that only means I need stop, right? Why would she trust me anyway?
"We need to think of something else that could help us convince her to join us," Blake said.
"Amoux, is it really important to recruit her? Based on her response earlier, she seems to be really not interested with this!" I asked, trying not to agree with Blake.
"Well, it's an order from the alpha so yes."
I sighed. There are times that neither I can't understand what's in my mind. I am too soft to always care about anything and everything that comes my way. It is actually not a bad thing but there are times that I'm going beyond the limits.
There are times that I forget about my missions and just focus on caring and feeding my emotions. With that happening, I always forget what matters most. What's happening now makes the situation like that. I care for her private life and for her reasons why she don't want to join. That is the reason why I don't want to do anything that could take that away from her.
"Didn't you see her actions? Didn't you hear how she responded to everything we said? She's not interested!"
"But we need her, Aegean!" Cnidus argued.
"But she doesn't need anything from us! Glozelle doesn't even want to be associated with us. She already said that she will assist us if we need her help. Isn't that enough?"
I don't get it. The reason why they want her to still be part of us is not clear. Why is it that important when she already pledged to be there when we need her?
"We need to train together. We can't just let her do everything she wants—"
"Why not? That's her fucking life! She can handle and train herself! You must be the one who knows about this, Amoux. You're the one who knows her."
"What are you trying to say, Aegean?"
My jaw clenched. What the hell is happening? Why don't they get it? Lately, I've been trying to point out that we must not force her to join us. Trying to convince her is already enough. Convincing and forcing are two different things. They are not the same so we must not act like they are.
"You know what are the things she hate so why will you do the things she hate if you want to convince her? Based on our recent conversation, she does really hate talking and socializing. She doesn't want being controlled as well so let her be."
Amoux stared at me. My eyes met with his and I didn't bother to look away until he sighed as a sign of his defeat. If he desires to be a great alpha like his parents, he should understand situations like this. This is just a small issue but if he can't even handle a small situation, what more if the situation gets worse and the casualties increased?
He can't just command his subordinates to submit to him just because he has authority. He must always make sure to look at different angles, consider the situation of the citizens, and measure the value of the benefits the cities may acquire once he decides on a very important matter in the near future.
"But can we at least try to ask her to train with us? I'm worried the training she's going through is not enough incase a battle takes place."
"We can try that. There's no harm in trying. Just... don't force her, okay?"
For the next few hours, we talked about the connections of all the information gathered about the attacks for the past two weeks. Unfortunately, the markings which has been found by Glozelle earlier became a solid proof and a strong lead that we may be dealing with a bigger enemy and we are expecting a much more serious case in the future. We do really need to train and prepare harder.
