AEGEAN HALE

HEARING her say those words made me stop and just want to stare at her eyes. I don't know what made her say that. She did not do anything wrong that's why I'm so surprised when she apologized. She even smiled at me which is so rare to see. This is my first time to see her smile.

"Why are you saying sorry?" I asked.

"Okay, I changed my mind. I'm taking it back!" she said, laughing.

"Wait, you look really beautiful when you smile. You should smile more."

"Come on, Aegean. Let's start our training before I slit your throat with my dagger."

"You're wild."

"And you're annoying."

We both laughed as we tease each other. I didn't know Glozelle have this side. She looks even more beautiful when she's acting like this. She's not bad at all. Even though how arrogant and mean she is when she is talking to me, at least now I know that she has a good side.

"So what are we going to do now, Aegean?" she asked.

"Let's just talk for now. I know you are already an expert with this sort of stuffs. I saw you already and I think there's no need to teach you anymore. I think there are just minimal things you need to develop but I know you can manage."

"You've been watching me, huh?"

"I needed to study your movements and actions. We will be fighting together and in order to succeed, we must have a good game plan. To have that, we must help each other improve—we must be aware of our allies' strengths and weaknesses."

"You know that you talk much, right?"

"Yes, I am aware of that."

"But seriously... What are we doing here, Aegean?"

"Let's see first, Glozelle. Let's just try to know each other for now."

"Alright."

We just continued to walk as we talk about each other. As much as possible, I want to know anything that she could tell me about her life. It's important for me to know her and her matters so that in case something bad happens to her, I can help her and I will know what I am dealing with.

"Glozelle."

"Yes?"

"I have a question if you don't mind."

"What is it?"

I took in a deep breath and looked at her before trying to speak. This may be too personal for her but I just want to try. This is the main reason why she doesn't want to be associated with us and I want to know the reason behind it.

"Your parents died three years ago, right? Why didn't you try to approach Amoux? You know each other since childhood, why didn't you talked to him so you won't have to be alone?"

"Oh, that."

"If you're not comfortable answering it, it's totally fine with me. I don't want to force you and trespass in your personal life."
