Juli's POV:

Game Day.

It's what Mayfield calls it, indicating the last 2 weeks of school. Ever since second grade, Bryce joined the baseball team as it was his favorite sport. He also participated in basketball and sometimes football too. Every year, he alternates his choice of sport. He's really athletic and had always been voted team Captain for all of three of them and that's what made other girls giggle all around him. Really annoying, actually. Sassy, flirty girls always go for athletic team Captains, hence, my man.

Get this, they tried out cheerleading just to get closer to him. I must admit, I did consider trying out just to get closer to him too, but I really wasn't the type. But this time, I didn't have to worry about him looking at other girls. I know for a fact that I'm his one and only.

Since this year, his sport is baseball, the uniform is a baggy jersey shirt with shoulder pads which made him look more cool and attractive. He really looked handsome with the uniform on. Guess who's in love?

And that's why, today, I'm stepping up my game, being the supportive girlfriend he deserves. I totally rock this. I put on a cute, (high waist) plaid white mini skirt and a fit, tucked in jersey-like shirt, grey as its main, and red on crew neck and sleeve. It also had Bryce's jersey number 12, the name 'Loski' and 'Mayfield Lions' printed. I threw on my new wedged white rubber shoes. Not gonna lie, I myself thought I did really great. I curled my hair into long locks and put on a red hat.

I barely used makeup but this time, I was more than ever determined to look my best. I didn't want people to think that the hottest guy in school had a lousy girlfriend.

I used mom's eye shadow (a light shade, just a tad darker than my skin tone) and a little bit of pinky blush-on. I found a thin brush which mom said was for my eye brows, to brush them in place. Foundation would feel a little heavy so I substituted it with baby powder. I applied lip gloss which complemented my lips nicely. I didn't overwhelm myself as much and I was positive that I wouldn't want make up (like mascara) falling out of place from sweat that came from the hot weather. Apart from that, I was good to go.

I took one last glance at the mirror staring at my reflection checking for something out of its place.

I packed cookies and some water for Bryce. I even packed extra for his friend, Daven. Ever since Bryce helped him out, they became quite close and practiced a lot together. I was relieved that he now had a good friend. Unlike Garrett.

I made space for my comb, lip gloss and powder. Just in case I needed to reapply. My back pack was small, but had a really big compartment. I could store a lot in there. I got it from my parents during my last birthday. It looked pricey but they got in a 70% off clearance sale.

Once I packed everything, I zipped my back pack bag shut, swung it behind me and heard my mom calling from the kitchen.

"Juli, honey, Bryce is outside!"

"Coming mom," I called after.

I went to the kitchen to see both my parents there. My mom was cooking and dad was reading the newspaper in the dining area with a cup of coffee beside him. It was their anniversary so they took the day off to celebrate together.

"Oh, honey you look amazing," mom said.

At this, dad put his newspaper down and got up from where he sat, making his way up to me.

"My baby girl's grown up into a beautiful woman," he hugged me tight.

"Thanks, you two," I said as mom joined in the hug.
