Alex Collin's POV:

A lot might be wondering. Why hadn't my dad gotten the job here in Mayfield? To answer that, the company he worked in for 10 years had this job offer that came up. Their senior director had stepped down and applied for a retirement to enjoy the rest of his life since he had been loyally working as the big man for 35 whole years.

They found two worthy employees that are seemingly up for the task and made them fight for the position of an elevated status. Dad had already been working in a high department and was payed decently but who would turn down a higher pay? He wasn't granted it though and he was less than triumphant for losing the chance to a better paying job but I guess that's fine. He's earning more than enough anyway and I couldn't be prouder.

I really wanted to move to Mayfield High. It's just different in East Union. People could be real toxic fakers. People follow me around like I was some kind of king they looked up to, just because I guess, I fit in to society with a businessman as a dad and a keen sense of fashion. I had the looks, the charms, the height, the reputation, but no one seemed to know me for who I truly am. They knew the rising, popular jock but they didn't know Alexter Darius Collins.

That's the main reason why I was so withdrawn to Juli. Sure, I did fell for her angelic beauty at first but my feelings grew stronger when I got to know her. On the very same day of our first meeting. She was gorgeous, sweet, unpredictable, elegant, vibrant, peculiar, and trust me, I could go on. Plus, I was able to express myself in a way that I felt instantly comfortable in her care. I never believed in 'Love at First Sight' but I think that's what clicked. She was undeniably compelling. I know, it's horrible of me to interfere especially when I'm well aware that she's taken. But I believe that I could do so much better than Loski.

Know that she is the only one who's ever made me feel this way. Every girl back in East Union had always wanted to be my side chick. Nothing more than a fling to gain popularity. Hence, I couldn't possibly allow myself to let this, whatever we have, slip. Even if it should start as a friendship. Who knows what it might bloom into.

Bryce Loski just has to watch his back.

Juli's POV:

Stuff with Bryce hadn't been the same since our argument in the classroom. No, it had nothing to do with the way he's treating me, he adored me exactly the same but it's more of like my personal issue.

This terrible feeling of guilt started washing over me. I couldn't stop thinking about Alex. I guaranteed myself that I would no longer entertain feelings for him. But ever since I saw Stella with Bryce that day, I guess it triggered the feeling of self inferiority.

I mean, look. She obviously has every feature that reaches and even possibly exceeds the obligatory merits of being with someone like Bryce. I stood no where near that level.

And although Alex and Bryce are pretty similar, in terms of their prestigiousness, they're somehow... not. The contrast between the two from my observation, is that Bryce plays by the rules and he percepts of his surroundings' discernment. On the flip side, Alex had no care whatnot of what people has to say. See what I mean? Complete opposites.

I lay in bed drifting deeply into my thoughts one Friday evening. The days before, I had helped Alex in adjustment and felt the constant pressure of being Bryce Loski's girl. Most of the city kids were narcissistic, egoistic, presumptuous. Basically all that came with an ill manner.

They looked down on our low-class facilities and space but there's no denying that they enjoyed every bit of lesson that was taught. The ESP students were segregated into different groups of talent-based activities. All depending on how they got a slot to be a part of the program. Alex had been doing pretty well in his. It's true that they possess potential in their skills as they went on with the program. Heck, it hasn't even been too long.
