Bryce's POV:

The school was packed with students from East Union and Mayfield High. Even the teachers were at one corner chatting away.

The school looked really lively even in the nightfall. The sound system was really good as well as the laser lights and even if we were early, the field was already packed.

My leg was a bit fine now and I could walk better with little to no support.

"This is so lit," said Juli as she walked ahead in awe of the party. She looked back and had her mouth hanging but in a way where the ends of her lips are still up. She looked back around at the students. In the light, she looked mesmerizing, it could be a crime. Heart stolen once again.

Out in the crowd, I saw Alex. He was in a group of 7-8 people. He held a plastic cup in his hand. His friends were talking but his eyes were straight up glued to Juli. I guess he also thought that she looked really fascinating.

We came up to where she was and I took her hand.

"You're an excited little girl are you?" I laughed. "Now, don't go running off again, you might get lost," I joked as I gripped even tighter.

"Ha ha," she rolled her eyes. "What are you, my dad?" she giggled slightly.

"Nope, your man." I said with a smirky face. She blushed.

"Ugh, enough with the lovey-dovey couple act. Let's party!" exclaimed Dana.

We ran to the field and danced around crazily to the pop music. We probably looked stupid but who cares? We were having a blast!

We laughed at each other's crazy dancing and topped it off by doing something way worse. We mostly jumped to the music with our hands thrown everywhere.

After, we got tired, we sat down on the bottom row bleachers.

"Hey, yalls want something to drink?" Daven said.

"Sure," we both said.

"Sweet, Dana mind the assistance?" he said.

"Not at all. I'm not third wheeling anything of the sort."

They headed for the corner of the field, disappearing from our sight. Juli and I sat there waiting. We leaned back to the upper row to make ourselves comfortable.

Suddenly, she held my hand and moved it around her shoulder, our usual position and said, "Babe, what if he says sorry?" she began.

"Sorry, I don't follow..." I said in confusion.

"Alex... Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking his side. I just saw that you two would be great friends. When you first talked to him, you two already seemed pretty close. I just want peace, please?" she said as she brought out her convincing puppy dog eyes.

I sighed. If that's what she wants then what can I do?

"For you, I'd forgive him and forget all this happened. I would, really, but even if I did, he'd still push himself to you. Let alone ask me for forgiveness? I'm sorry babe," I said.

"I understand," she looked down. "Don't worry, I really do. I'm sorry too. Forget I said anything. You come first," she said.

"And that's why I love ya," I planted a kiss on her forehead. She smiled and put her head on my shoulder.

"Back atcha."

We watched people in the field dancing around. I saw Alex and his friends leaning against the wall of the building. He was looking at us. Not a nice look though. He didn't look too happy.
