Bryce's POV:
Juli, Dana and Daven went up to where we were.
"Ready to go?" Juli asked.
"Yeah, let's," said Alex.
We stood up and I put my arm around Juli. We exited the cafeteria with both of them still chit chatting.
Outside the door, Alex said, "So Juli, still up for that tour?"
"Excuse me, what tour?" I asked in confusion.
"Oh uhm, Alex wanted me to tour him around the school. You know, since he's planning to move and all. You all should come with!" she said excitedly. "Let's show him all the cool places where we hang out in. I mean, if you want to."
"Definitely," I said, eyeing him. He couldn't get rid of me that easily.
"Perfect," Alex said in a sarcastic tone.
Dana said, "Actually, you guys can go ahead, Daven and I are going to stop by at the lab. We forgot some books there. Juli, same place on the bleachers at one?"
"I'm there," said Juli.
"Great, see you then," and they went off. It was only the three of us.
"So Juli, where do you like to-" Alex was cut off.
"Captain! Coach needs a word with you," said Henry, one of my teammates.
Seriously? Right now? I wasn't going to leave Juli with this creep.
Ugh. Duty calls I guess.
I sighed heavily as I turned to Juli looking quite disappointed.
"That's a shame," said Alex.
I gave him a nasty look.
"It's fine, Bryce. Coach needs you. I'll take it from here. We'll be back in time, don't worry. I promise." she said.
I felt really uncomfortable with leaving her. Alex was grinning at me. He won this round.
I removed my arm from Juli's shoulder and walked with Henry out to the field.
I just hope whatever coach wants to tell me is worth it.
Juli's POV:
Bryce had to leave so it was just me and Alex.
He first wanted to know where the library was. I walked him there. Along the way as we walked there, we passed a lot of classrooms.
"Here is the Literature class, then next door is the History class. Math's on the other side," I pointed to each room.
"It's amazing how it's perfectly neat. I like it here. It's really big. Compared to East Union. The hallways are really appealing," he stated.
I never got to visit East Union. It's quite far from our town. So, I asked him lots of questions of how it's like there. I explained that I never really moved from one place to another, and that we were stable. I told him we weren't rich but I never asked for anything more.
This is new, but he was really amazed with me. Each fact I shared with him about myself, it just seems like he thought I was mysteriously alluring.
I've only ever felt this way with Bryce. I felt special, but this was something else. We built a bond immediately, like we had a lost connection that just began to spark back up.
A lot of girls glared at me enviously. I gotta say, Alex was really good looking. Though he was a complete opposite of Bryce.
Bryce was blonde and his hair was combed neatly all the time, but Alex had a dark, chestnut hair which looked like it was just swept to the side by fingers, not really thinking much of it. Sort of like the bad boy type.
