Bryce's POV:

I couldn't stop thinking about them in class. I know it sounds weird, but hear me out. I feel like the more Juli and Alex spends more time alone together, their feelings would grow bigger, and bigger. Juli did admit she had mutual feelings with the dude. Who's to say it wouldn't magically ignite back up even without the help of Houdini?

The thought dragged me down and as much as I forcefully tried to get my head into learning, it was still taunting me. Ms. Yolande's lecture ended and she assigned us all a mini essay about the lesson which was to be handed over before the remaining time of 1st period.

Just like that, I was cramming. I reread (or rather, scanned) through the passage of some of the well known presidents of the state who governed it purely with the act of bravery, and leadership. Man, did George Washington have a reputation back then up till now and surely future generations to come.

Anyway, I was able to accomplish it just before the bell rang and dashed out of the room and downstairs to Juli's classroom. I stopped dead on my tracks when I reached the last step of the staircase.

Like, literally. I honestly have no idea why, but it seemed like my whole nervous system had shut down when I saw Alex's arm hanging around Juli's shoulder as they smiled for a picture. Sebastian Creevy held a camera up to them. Once I managed to take a step, I walked over to them.

"Yo yo, the Captain has arrived! Smile for the yearbook dude," Sebatian shifted the camera to my direction but my gaze stuck on the two of them. Juli got uncomfortable and was the one who initiated to remove his arm.

"Nice candid shot. See you around guys!" Said Sebastian before heading off.

Juli then grabbed my arm and pulled us out of the scene. My stare still wouldn't budge. Until it was far enough from him.

We got to the locker where the rest of the group were. We didn't get a chance to speak of what happened.

I stayed silent as they chatted about how boring first period was. Juli didn't seem like she wanted to bring it up so I thought that was for the best. To leave it be. It was just for yearbook anyway.

The next bell rang and as before, I sent her off to her next class. I took the motive to start the talk so that she didn't have to feel awkward. Then I went to mine.

Class went on as usual, but I decided to stay focused for real this time. I got to get my grades in order to balance it along with my sports. I managed to stay vigilant the whole time.

Fast forward, recess came, back to class then the signal for lunch arrived.

Riinnnggg!!!

I looked forward to seeing the others and have a longer time off class than what we had during recess.

"Hey, Loski!" someone caught up from behind while I walked the halls on my way to the locker. It was Clay, a teammate of mine, followed by some other players. They were the type to proudly represent in their varsity team jackets such as myself, but mine was with Juli.

"What's good dudes?" We bumped fists.

"Okay, so, we gathered to plan for a you know... party for all varsity players. After every game. We would be celebrating on a win anyway. Why not make it a regular routine?" Rendall started.

"You seriously think I believe that? There's no way. I know you just want to show off our wins to their own schools," I said and I took a step to lead them to walk with me.

"Hey, they gotta know their place either way am I right?" We laughed. "But no, seriously. Why not? We just need your permission," Christopher placed a heavy arm around me.
