Alex's POV:
I silently crept out of Juli's room after it was clear that she's deep in sleep. She wept heftily all throughout the night that I absolutely couldn't bear to leave her crying right in the next room. I figured a mother's support is better than what I had to offer, but Juli says that she didn't want to let her mom know just yet. Apparently the parents had such high hopes for that boy.I didn't mind being there for her, but it's unmistakably so that she's hurting me as well in the process. There's nothing more I despised in the world than seeing her in such condition and it left my heart in pieces to witness her falling apart.
Everything she talked about was how he was her first love, how grand he'd been with her and that she hated the universe for allowing their paths to cross when they aren't even destined for each other. What I hated most was when she started second-guessing herself, thinking that she wasn't good enough for his father. You'd think we were young, but after going through the breakup with her, you'd see she meant good. She loved him.
Bryce's POV:
Photographs are said to be the highlights of our past. Laying in bed, I wallowed up despairingly in my sadness, blasting memories of my own highlights with her. As I did, I blamed myself for being a severely conceited brainless bastard to let a girl like Juli slip out of my clutches just when I already had her alone.I was brought back to the day my concealed feelings for her solidify in a crystal clear way. My world turned upside down when I realized I would never ever find someone like her again. She was just like everything grandpa says and through my eyes, definitely more. "Iridescent" he says. Juli wasn't ordinary. She was a catch of lightning, like a fireball zooming across the galaxy awaiting the lucky generation to witness such a glorious sighting. She was my once in a lifetime opportunity.
And now I lost her.
I blame myself bigtime but I'd like to think it wasn't all on me. Collins just had to swoop in. I'm getting her back, that's a promise. Juli Baker is mine.
Juli's POV:
I didn't feel like going to school today. To see Bryce after everything that took place last night was ghastly vile. No one but Alex knew of what occurred but no doubt, soon enough, it'll be the talk of the whole school. Sucks to used to date the school's eligible Mr. Dreamy.Instead of heading out super early as Bryce would expect, I leisurely took more time preparing myself. I wasn't entirely sure if he'd wait for me to leave the house or wait for me at school. I know he wouldn't hope I'd show up at the park. But if there was anything I've picked up from our time together, it's that he'd wait out for me to try and talk things out. So much for avoiding him.
I'm thinking Alex caught my strategy because all morning he hasn't left the house. He was just waiting for me to come out from my room.
"That prick's been waiting outside for quite some time. What's the plan?" he whispered.
"He needs to think I left for school early."
"On it," he then walks forth to the door and went outside to face Bryce so I don't have to.
Alex's POV:
I always believed that having a fresh start of the morning leads to a great day all throughout. I already knew I was risking my rest of the day starting up with this but Juli was worth it."Didn't think you'd look more depressing Loski but I stand corrected." I said as I was certain the door was closed behind me to avoid raising suspicion.
"You know, I'd love to set it off with you, but I'm afraid you're not worth my time."
"Alright, calm down bud," my playful tone surely made him more mad. "Guess you aren't trying as hard for Juli because if you did, you'll know she went out extra early." I flashed the fakest smile to the deserving person.
