Bryce's POV:

Yesterday's Christmas party was a blast. Today is our Moving Up ceremony. Sadly, they announced last minute that the they couldn't fit the year end party in one day since the schedule was too tight, already having the Christmas Party and Year Ends combined, but that's understandable.

We weren't graduates but some of us would receive awards and certificates for participation in events, especially in acing exams and tests as an achiever. As for graduates, they'd be walking around with a toga on stage to collect their diplomas.

Graduation for them seniors would be held in the afternoon onwards, while we had our moving up ceremony in the morning starting at 8am until 11am. I'm not that smart of a guy. I'm not in the honor roll but I'm a little above average. I pass exams with higher than enough grades which has to be good enough for my strict dad not to cut off my allowance pocket money. Dad says that I ought to get at least an 85% for an average.

Juli on the other hand was smart and an achiever in the honor roll. Second in place, after Zhaira Fernon, the top student since I came, consecutively maintaining her image as number one for all these years.

Again, I'm not an achiever. But Mayfield High recognizes and appreciates students with talents. Here, if you compete in activities or competitions in or outside of school, you'd be recognized as a participant. So I've always received awards and certificates for being an active team captain in all my sports. Basketball, Baseball, Football, Volleyball. I'm good in all of them and maintain a good grade.

In this very occasion, we were asked to dress nicely. Girls were to wear fancy dresses and for boys, a jacket and tie.

The suit I wore at the auction was one of my finests. Mom forced me to wear it so I'd look my best. However, I did have one more that really caught my eye first glance when mom and dad took me to buy new clothes. It was a $100 suit made in a fine boutique which came straight from Italy.

I was a dressy guy. Unlike most you see, I dress to impress. My simplest of clothes (other than my pj's, obviously) are my polo shirts. I spend time on my hair too. As for others, they'd throw in a pair of jeans and a wrinkled shirt, and never bother to comb their hair in place. What I get for having a businessman as a dad.

In the morning, I woke up early. Really early. Earlier than the time the Bakers rise. I wouldn't be able to see Juli before the ceremony since my father would freak, but I plan to leave a note so she knew I was thinking of her.

I tip toed out of my room, down the stairs and shut the door as quietly as I can. I snuck around their house to Juli's window and scribbled a note. I folded it 3 times looking like an envelope and stuck it on her window with a clear tape. I hope she liked the little trick up my sleeve.

Inside the fold, I slipped in a rose. Her curtains were tied up, half open and I saw her sleeping there. She faced the other side so I wasn't able to see her angelic face.

I saw new frames on the wall. They were the ones I got her and the ones from game day which she also kept in a frame. They were scattered next to the sycamore tree. One was missing though. My favorite picture of the both of us. I looked around and my eyes stopped on her night stand. There it was. I guess it was her favorite too.

I sneakily left the premises and ran back to my house.

In my room, I slept a little more, remembering to set my alarm so I wouldn't be late.

An hour later, I hit the showers and got dressed up into my nicely pressed $100 suit. I even polished my black leather shoes, made it shiny. I wore a plain white polo on the inside and a navy blue jacket on top. I tied my neck tie properly, having lots of practice already. The tie was a baby blue shade with little white polka dots, too small to be seen from afar. My slacks being the same color as my jacket.
