Chapter 2 : The Mail

Shocked waves through me as mixed emotions covered my system... but, why me!? For so many students in the entire world, for goodness sake!

The mail says,

"You are invited to take the entrance examination of the gifted on April 5 exactly 7:00 am at Geniuses Academy.

Please cooperate this is very confidential only you and your family must know." Erudite Charade Organization

Erudite Charade Organization is the highest organization that government owned. They hold every secrets of the universe, the reality between all unproven theory and beliefs, they held the answers. Aliens and such. They know the truth that lies beyond human beliefs.

I can feel my heart frantically beating against my chest, for over billions of students in the entire world I was chosen as one of the students to take the entrance examination of the Geniuses Academy!? O-M-G! To the highest level!

Geniuses Academy is the most special and prestigious school in the entire world according to history, but no one can enter except students and personnel invited to the Academy.

They said that the Academy holds many hidden secrets that normal people don't know. What does it mean?

Oh, wait 'till I come, I'll discover it.

Again, I keep thinking... why me!? I know that my grades are all A+ but I don't have the influence or so just to be invited.

My father is just a worker of a known company.

"Oh My Gosh! Sweetie you are invited by the government! Will you join the entrance exam?" My mom asked, excited to hear my answer.

I'm kinda confused, why didn't I see visions the moment I touched the letter? I saw nothing... which is absolutely unusual. Usually, everything I touch gave me visions.

I saw mom still waiting for my answer so I smiled widely "Can I?" I gave her my puppy look but then my smile disappeared as I scratched my neck feeling embarrassed "It's just that I wanted to try new things."

"Of course sweetie! Why would you think I won't let you!?" Mom scolded but then, she smile. "I will always be here for you and support you with anything."

I smile and hugged her tightly "Thank you Mom!"

"But, you have to tell your dad first." She ordered.

"Tell me what honey?" Dad's home! I immediately ran to him and hugged him tightly.

He laughs.

"Miss you dad." I said with longings even just for a day that we separated, I missed him already.

"I miss you too baby girl." He replied softly.

"How about me? Hmmp!" Mom acted childishly crossing her arms on her chest, I smile.

Dad carefully walked towards her with love and longings in his eyes.

"Of course you too honey. I miss you." He said sweetly to mom, slowly caressing her arms. I felt like closing my eyes not to see their lovey-dovey moments.

"Ehhh, fine. But... you seems too early today." Mom said with curiosity in her sweet voice.

The atmosphere is getting sweeter, might sense ant not long after. Am I still intended to be here?

"I want to pay back my debt from most of the time that I wasn't here. I've been too busy with my work that I barely have time with the two precious girl of my life..." he lowly explained and I could see the sincerity in him.

"Really!?" Mom and I cheered happily.

"Of course! I already got my... promotion!" Dad exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Oh my gosh! That's good news!" Mom immediately hugged dad and so I walked towards them hugging them both.

"Congratulations dad." I stated and they hugged me back.

I do not wish for more, having this wonderful family, I feel complete and safe. This is home.

Mom pulled out of the hug, smiling widely "I think I'll be cooking your favorite dish today, it calls for a celebration!" She yelled.

"Really mom!? Yehey!" I jumped out of joy as Dad and I made a high five, because we just have the same favorite dish! A Fish fillet!

This is what family feels like, and that is why, this house is full of love because we share the sense of care and happiness.

During dinner mom and dad talk about things but suddenly, "Honey, I think your daughter have something to tell you." Mom said while looking at me, signalling to tell dad about the mail because it is the right moment.

"What is it baby girl?" Dad asked smiling, but suddenly he turned seriously worried when he sensed that mom and I looked sincere "Is everything okay?"

I immediately nodded "Yes dad, everything is fine. It's just that, I received a mail today." I said.

His forehead furrowed "What's with the mail that you seems too serious?" He asked, curiosity filled him.

"Wait for a moment." I stand up and aimed to get the envelope but I stopped.

"Can it wait for later? We're still having our dinner." He said in serious tone.

I smile "No dad. It can't." I said and run towards the living room.

I immediately took the envelope and when I came back to the dining, I handed it to dad.

I started eating while he was reading it. "Goodness! Is this real?" He asked shocked.

I shrugged "I don't know, but it has the seal and the symbol. So I guess it is."

He looked at me in concern "Do you want to join?" He asked.

I took a deep breath "It depends on you dad. Do you want me to join?" I asked back smiling softly.

"Baby girl, if you wanted to join, then I will support you all the way. Just make sure that you have to take good care of yourself." As always my ever supportive dad "What do you think about it?" He asked again.

"I don't know dad, but something's pulling me towards it the moment I touched the letter." I answered honestly, I've been sensing differently towards it, like a pull wanting me to join.

"Okay then. But I'm curious how they have reached you." He stated curiously. So, am I.

"How can you be curious if your child is too smart! Besides, she never made mistakes in any of her exams." Mom explained while smiling.

"Hhmm... you're right." Dad nodded but I could sense his worry and curiosity as well.

Days have passed and our moving up have ended. Next week we will be flying to Los Angeles and meet the person who invited me.

Yes, you heard it right, I was invited by someone. How did I know? He called me yesterday clarifying if I've received the mail. I answered yes. Then he told me he was the one who sent the letter. And he said that he's working for the Erudite Charade Organization named Alfredo Malaya.

He also talked to my dad through the phone. I knew that they talked about my upcoming entrance examination but I did not eavesdrop, just my guess.

When my dad put down the phone he said "By next week, we'll be going to Los Angeles to meet Alfredo.He also wanted to tell you that, a week after is your examination so you need to prepare."

I nodded but confusion never leaves my mind. Why did Alfredo invited me? How did he know me? Do I know him?

It seems like things were getting confusing, but there's nothing wrong in trying besides I have my parents supporting me all the way!

I have a new world to explore.
