Mary was silently drinking tea in the kitchen when her phone disturbed the peace. She picked it up without seeing who called her and answered immediately.

"Hello? Mary speaking" she greeted.

At first, no one answered. She thought it was a butt dial and was about to put it off when she heard the low sound of breathing. She was sure then, that someone was at the end of the line.

"I can hear you breathing you know. Kung hindi ka magsasalita, you could ju-" her words were cut off when a voice replied.

"Akin ka lang, Mary..."the voice murmured.

"What?" she doesn't understand what this man meant.

"AKIN KA LANG! NAIINTINDIHAN MO BA YON?! HINDI KA-" she ended the call immediately.

Her eyes were wide as she looked at the phone in her hand. She shouldn't have answered back. She should've seen who called before answering. Now her day was in the mud.

For the one who called was her stalker.

Yes. A stalker.

It began when she was in her senior year. At first, she received flowers and notes in her locker. She felt giddy, no one noticed her before, this was a first. Everyday, a flower waited for her at her locker, candies and other foods were also delivered to her by an unknown person.

She was excited that she had a secret admirer.

Then her relationship with Connor started. Since her secret admirer wasn't coming out any time soon, she agreed to be Connor's girlfriend. The next morning, a dead flower waited for her in her locker. She didn't take notice of it.

Since then, there were no more candies and sweet notes. It was replaced with hate notes, ranting how she shouldn't be with Connor and that she was his. Like his branded property. She started getting scared when a dead cat was left in their doorstep the next month.

Her admirer turned into a stalker overnight. Sending her pictures where she was reading a book in the library, petting a dog, and even when she was kissing Connor!

She told Connor then and he suggested body guards. She got them and the threats declined almost immediately. Though, when she broke up with Connor, the stalker calls once in a while, just breathing through the phone or to hear her voice greeting hello. After that, she always looks first before answering her phone.

Clearly, her admirer must have gotten the memo that she was engaged now. She might get bodyguards again before the wedding.

"Nak, sige naman na. Pumayag ka na sa request namin ng papa mo" her mother pleaded with her softly.

"Anong request namin? Baka ikaw lang?" her father smirked at her mom.

"Ano ba naman yan Arman! Makisama ka nga!" her mom hissed at him.

Mary was at her parent's house. Though she was accustomed to splendid things, her parent's made sure that she experienced the low life. Like eating tuyo for breakfast, cleaning her mess without the yaya's help, and cooking. Her mom said that she needed to learn how to cook for her husband in the future.

Her parents, Arman and Sheryl Garcia wasn't born with riches like Mary was. They worked hard and scraped to reach where they were now. Mary couldn't be more proud. Her father built a business and it bloomed immediately. Her mother graduated as an architect before marrying Arman.

The family business was still on the run but her mother retired from her work when Mary graduated as a Doctor. She told Sheryl that she can support her own now.
