Chapter 14

"Love?" Mary whispered her fiance, but Leo remained a statue staring at his aunt's coffin.

Today was Avril De Valencia's funeral after being discovered in her villa, hanged and burnt to toast almost a week ago. The journalists completely ate the news of the Valencia's President's death. They were all over the villa waiting to take a scoop on Leo's aunt.

Since then, Leo became more tired and quiet than usual. He would stare into an empty space and get lost for hours until Mary pulled him back to reality.

Mary couldn't keep her worries from Leo anymore. She would go to his office daily and give him food and drinks because he would leave the farm house earlier than before his aunt's death.

He was distracting himself by working to oblivion. But Mary had enough.

"Love, nandito ako. Please don't shut me out. I'm here. Please come back to me" Mary murmured as tears fell from the corner of her eyes.

When Leo noticed this, his expression changed into a lighter one. His arms found their way around her and hugged her to his wide chest.

"I'm sorry, love. I'm just so lost right now" He whispered to her.

"I am too, with everything that's going on. I have a stalker going after my friends, Rose is still missing, I'm managing Blue Bells for her, my father is still in the hospital in a coma nonetheless, but Leo, I'm still standing strong and facing it all" she cried.

"I'm being strong for you when I myself am lost in oblivion" she continued.

"I'm sorry baby, I truly am" Leo kissed Mary's forehead.

"Just be strong for me too, okay? We'll find out who the killer is and we'll put him to jail" she looked up at his eyes.

"I think it's Marco" he murmured as his brows furrowed.

"What?" she gaped.

"Hindi mo ba nakikita Mary? Hindi lang yung stalker mo ang gusto tayong tapusin. Marco wants that too. He is out for revenge sa amin ni tita Avril, and now he got her. Siya lang naman ang may motive na pumatay sa tita ko" he huffed.

Now that Mary thinks about it, he really is the only one who got a motive. It seems that her problems have gotten bigger than they should have.

Taylor and Connor were killed by her stalker. Rose went missing the same day Marco escaped, and then three days after that, her father was nearly beaten to death and put into a coma by her stalker, or was it Marco too? Now Avril was dead, and it seems the target is put into Marco's head once more.

It was splitting her head thinking about this. Since her engagement, nothing but death and hospitals followed, plus that crazy woman who attacked her at the mall the other week. That reminded Mary about something.

"Love? Itutuloy pa ba natin ang kasal?" she asked Leo while the latter stared at her.

"Ikaw ba?" Leo raised his brow.

"Mukha kasing hindi maganda ang timing ng kasal natin. There's so much that's going on and mukhang maraming nadadamay sa galit ng stalker ko at galit ni Marco sa'yo. I think it'll be better if we hold it, until na matapos ang lahat na ito" Mary mumbled while looking down.

When she looked at Leo, he was thinking deeply with a frown. After a minute, he nodded at her in response.

"Okay. I think you're right. Masyadong magulo" Leo said.

"I'm so thankful you understand, don't worry. Maaayos rin natin ito" Mary smiled.

Leo was cooking in the kitchen while Mary was on the counter table with her laptop when a lady with a kid knocked on the door. Mary welcomed them in and called to Sheryl. As Sheryl came down, Mary couldn't help but notice that her mother was dressed up.
