Bloody Mary (COMPLETED)

Chapter 12

Sheryl's sobs can be heard inside the room as she clutched Arman's hand to her face. On her left, Mary stood with Leo, trying to be strong for her mom.

"N-Nakapag report ka na b-ba sa police about what happened?" Sheryl asked Mary.

"Yes, mom" Mary quietly said.

"W-who would do this? M-mabait naman si Arman sa mga business p-partners niya. Wla siyang mga kaaway" Sheryl hiccupped.

"I don't know mom" Mary muttered.

Oh, but she did. At least, she thinks she did.

Her stalker strikes again, now on her father. Her worries started to expand when she thought about others near her, especially Leo. Her stalker might target him soon and she couldn't do anything to stop it.

Leo bumped his shoulders with Mary when he noticed her eyes focused on the wall. She shaked her head and stared at him.

"Yes?" she asked.

"Ayos ka lang?" Leo asked worriedly.

"Y-yeah" she breathed.

But Leo didn't believe her. He excused them from Sheryl as he dragged Mary by her hand into a sofa on the corner.

Once seated, he hugged her small frame into his wide chest as she started sobbing quietly, trying to keep it in so that Sheryl wouldn't hear her cry.

"It's okay love" Leo hushed her.

"I-It's not okay, Leo" Mary cried.

"W-What if he h-hurts you too? Leo, h-hindi ko alam ang gagawin k-ko kapag ikaw na a-ang napahamak" she stared at him as tears fell from her eyes.

"Hey, okay pa naman ako. Besides, I can hold my own, you don't have to worry, love" he held her face in his hands and kissed her forehead.

She buried her face deeper into his chest and took all she can. She didn't know the future, this might be the last time she sees him, no one would know when the stalker would strike again.

"Do you want to tell aunt Sheryl about him?" Leo referred to her stalker.

At this, she shook her head. Her parents didn't know she had a stalker since high school. If they did, they'll never let her out of the house. Now that the stalker struck her father, they might even keep her in her room forever!

As these thoughts circled Mary's mind, they didn't notice that someone else entered the room. When the door harshly greeted the wall, they looked up and saw Avril De Valencia's face greeting them.

Her gaze was focused solely on her nephew beside Mary. With a quick survey around the room, she walked towards Leo and Mary on the couch.

"Let's go, Leo" Avril beckoned coldly at Leo while the latter tilted his head in confusion.

"Go where tita?" Leo stood up.

"Away from here! Away from her!" Avril's voice raised as she pointed at Mary's form.

Sheryl noticed what was going on and ran to her daughter's side immediately.

"Why would I leave Mary tita?" Leo furrowed his brows.

"Let's just go, Leo. I don't need to explain" Avril muttered.

"No. Leo, stay put" Sheryl directed Leo at Mary's side.

"Bakit mo ba inilalayo ang pamangkin mo sa anak ko ha Avril? May ginawa ba ang anak ko?" Sheryl scrunched her brows in confusion at Avril.

"Ginawa wala. Yung stalker niya, meron" Avril glared at Mary while Mary's eyes widened in shock.

"A-Anong stalker ang pinagsasabi mo?" Sheryl asked Leo's aunt.

"Oh, so you didn't know?" Avril laughed humorlessly.

"Tita, tama na po" Leo tried to reach for his aunt's hand but she wouldn't budge.

"No, Leo! Dapat alam ng ina ng babaeng ito kung anong trahedya and dala ng anak niya!" Avril shouted at Leo.

Sheryl tried to reach for Avril but Mary held her mother back.

"HUWAG MONG PAGSALITAAN NG GANIYAN ANG ANAK KO!" Sheryl warned Leo's aunt.

"At bakit hindi? Siya lang naman ang dahilan kung bakit namatay si Taylor" Avril sneered at Mary.

"A-ano?" Sheryl stuttered as she stared at her daughter in shock.

"Yang magaling mong anak, may stalker. Said stalker killed my friend's daughter, Taylor!" Avril announced.

"A-anak? May stalker k-ka? Why didn't you tell me?" Sheryl asked her daughter.

"M-mom, I didn't want you and dad to worry" Mary mumbled.

"That stalker was probably the reason why a lot of people are in danger or either killed around your daughter. And it seems na pati ang asawa mo nadawit na" Avril and a teary Sheryl glanced at Arman's body that was lying on the hospital bed.

"M-Mary, is this true? Was the stalker the one who hurt your father?" Sheryl stared at Mary's trembling form.

"I-I don't know mom, I-I'm not sure" Mary stuttered.

When Sheryl only stared at her daughter, Avril grabbed Leo's hand and started to drag him away.

"Come on Leo, hindi ako papayag na pakasalan mo ang babaeng yan. She could get you killed!" Avril shouted when Leo escaped her grip and returned to Mary's side.

When she saw that Leo stared at her in defiance, her face transformed. Her cheeks heated in anger till it covered her whole face. She took big steps towards Mary and tried to reach for her with her claws but Sheryl pushed her away from her daughter while Leo pushed Mary behind him.

"Let me go! Leo come here! Iwan mo na yang malas na babaeng yan!" Avril wiggled out of Sheryl's grip.

"Layuan mo ang anak ko! Security! Security! Drag this woman out of here!" Sheryl called for backup but Avril escaped her.

She barreled her way through Leo and immediately grabbed Mary's hair. Avril quickly pulled on Mary's hair while screaming profanities at her.

"Mary!" Sheryl said in surprise when she saw her daughter fall on the ground with Avril straddeling her waist. Leo tried to pull his aunt away from his fiancé, but her hands dug deeper unto Mary's scalp.

When Leo almost got his aunt off, she pushed him away with great force.

"If I can't get him to leave you, then you'll be the one that has to go!" Avril shouted crazily at Mary as she grabbed the small vase on the side and lifted it in the air above Mary's head.

She was close to breaking the vase on Mary's head when two pairs of arms lifted her up. Instead on Mary's head, the vase dropped and broke apart near her face. The pieces scattered near her and a big chunk cut her face.

Mary winced at the wound while Leo helped Mary up the floor. Sheryl immediately slapped Avril's face when she saw the small wound on Mary's face.

"Don't come near my daughter anymore you bitch! How dare you hurt her!" Sheryl shouted as she watched the guards drag Avril.

They were nearing the door when Avril wiggled out of their grip and ran away out of the door. The guards immediately chased after her.

When Sheryl walked towards Mary who was currently in Leo's arms, she stared at her daughter with a blank look.

"We need to talk" she muttered at her daughter quietly while she wiped the blood flowing on Mary's face with her handkerchief.
