Bloody Mary (COMPLETED)

Chapter 9

"Hey, what's up?" Rose's voice sounded from the phone.

"Hey, Rose. I need a favor" Mary mumbled.

"Okay? Ano yun?" she asked.

"You know Marco right? The one I told you about the other day?" Mary raised her brow.

"Yes. Yung na hospital tapos pinuntahan ni Leo kasi tumawag yung nanay, right?" Rose said.

"Yeah. That's the one. Kasi yung mother ni Marco eh matanda na tapos ayaw iwan si Marco sa hospital. Eh gusto na sana pauwiin ni Leo yung matanda, pero wala naman daw mag babantay in case na magising. Busy si Leo at may mga inaasikaso pa ako dito sa bahay..." Mary bit her lip.

"I know where this is going. Oo na, ako na mag babantay kay Marco. I'll be there in 20" Rose answered.

"Yey! You're the best Rose! Thank you" Mary smiled. She thanked Rose once again before saying goodbyes.

After she put her phone down, Mary went to Leo's side who was currently convincing Emily to go home already. When she neared them, they both looked at her.

"Okay na po Mrs. Medina. Pumayag po yung kaibigan ko na bantayan si Marco" Mary smiled at Marco's mother.

"Oh. Yun na naman pala Aling Emily. Mayroon nang magbabantay sa kaniya. Ngayon, pwede na po ba kayong umuwi?" Leo raised his brows at him expectedly.

"Haynako. Sige na nga. Makulit kang bata ka" Emily breathed which made Leo smile.

"Sige, antayin ko nalang muna si Rose dito bago ako umuwi. Ihatid mo na si Aling Emily sa kanila" Mary told Leo.

"Tara na po" Leo stood up and gestured Emily towards the door. He pecked Mary on the lips before escorting Marco's mother out of the door.

Like Rose said, twenty minutes later, she entered Marco's hospital room. She found Mary playing a game in her phone. When she appeared, Mary quickly tucked her phone and greeted her friend.

"Thank you so much for doing this" Mary said as she hugged Rose.

"Of course. Anything for my friend" Rose mumbled.

"Well, since nandito ka na, I'll get going na. Just alert the nurse in case he wakes up, tatawagan agad ng nurse si Mrs. Medina. Got it?" Mary raised her brows as she took her bag.

"Aye aye captain" Rose saluted.

"Childish as ever" Mary rolled her eyes.

"Only for you" she smirked at Mary.

"Okay. Sige na. Bye. Take care" Mary smiled.

"You too" Rose watched Mary as she went out of the door. When the door closed, Rose spun around to inspect this so called Marco.

"Hello patient. I am your nurse today, how may I help you?" she mumbled at Marco as if he could hear her.

It's been four hours since Rose arrived at the hospital. All she did on the meantime was play songs on her phone, sent emails to her crews in her restaurant, and sometimes draw on a piece of paper.

She was about to stand on her seat near Marco to get a coffee outside, when his hand suddenly held hers.

Her eyes grew wide as she looked at Marco who was rasping for air. He opened one eyes, then both. Rose should be alerting the nurse right now but she couldn't move.

"H-hi. I'm Rose. Mary's friend. If you don't know who she is, siya yung fiancé ni Leo. They told me na bantayan ka muna kasi umuwi yung nanay mo" Rose said carefully while Marco kept wheezing.

While his right hand held hers, his left gestured for her to come closer. Rose tilted her head in confusion but neared her ear towards Marco.

As Marco whispered something to her ear, Rose's eyes widened in shock and fear. She quickly removed Marco's hand that was holding her and ran out of the room.

With trembling hands, she drived while trying to call Mary, but the phone said she was out of reach. She growled in frustration as threw her phone back on the backseat.

Fifteen agonizing minutes later, she parked her car outside the Garcia farm house and rushed towards the house. She shouted for somebody, anybody, but no one was home. She stomped in frustration when she remembered she left her phone in her car.

Still mumbling curses, she was about to get her phone when a car appeared. She knew that car.

As it parked beside hers, she started running towards the tall grasses surrounding the farm house. She knew shouting was helpless since the Garcias were far from other houses. Rose cursed profanities when the heels of her stilettos broke. She angrily ripped it and threw it unto the grassland.

Rose already got a good distance from the house. She turned her head to look back. The car was still there, yet no person could be seen.

Where did he go?

Her breaths labored as she kept running. Finally stopping, she leaned on a tree. She swept her hair back and glanced around her surroundings consciously when she was suddenly swept to the ground.

She yelped when a hand covered her mouth to stop her from screaming.

On top of her, a masked man sat on her waist. He was smirking inside his mask while he watched Rose wiggle out but to no avail.

His hand on her mouth scrunched in pain as Rose bit his finger.

"Fucker!" Rose shouted at him when he got his hand off.

She knew she had no chance, but she still tried to get out. Kicking her feet off the ground, she scratched his face as he tried to restrain her.

Suddenly, One of Rose's fingers hooked unto the tie of his mask and pulled hard. His mask fell unto a distance away from them and the masked man's face was revealed to Rose.

Rose only got out a gasp when the man took a big rock from their side and lifted it up. Rose tried to stop it but it was already too late.

He smashed the rock into Rose's face as she screamed for help. To which no help was given.

He smashed it unto her skull three more times for good measure. When satisfied, he threw the rock and gazed upon his art.

Rose's head was scratched and dirtied from rolling on the ground too much. Red, sticky blood oozed from a large hole on the side of her head. It flowed to the soil under her, tasting her innocent blood. She tried to rasp and scream help but only wheezes of pain released from her mouth.

He thought she was done for, when she suddenly kicked him away, though she remained bloodied on the ground.

He growled in anger before riding her waist once more and this time, connected his hands around Rose's neck.

He squeezed so hard that he thought her brains would blow out from the crack on her skull. Her little arms tried to remove his hold but to no avail.

While squeezing, the man's cufflinks got entangled with Rose's beaded pearl necklace. He tugged his arms out to get it untangled but it didn't budge. When he tugged harder than he should have, it caused Rose's beaded pearl necklace to snap and sent the beads flying everywhere.

At that time, Rose wasn't breathing anymore. The man choked her enough that he cut her air supply to her chest.

Slowly standing up, he lifted his arm to his face and growled when he noticed that the cufflink that was entangled from Rose's necklace was missing. He looked everywhere near them, but all he found was the beads from her necklace.

After 15 minutes of searching, he finally gave up. If he couldn't find it, then no one can, right?

With that thought, he started walking away from Rose's body, and ran back to the house. Her body was far enough from the house so no one would notice it. Animals will eat it when they start sniffing her out.

Getting Rose's car keys, he drove it away from the Garcia farm house.

And away from the crime he committed once again...
