Bloody Mary (COMPLETED)

Chapter 5

"Death by stabbing to the stomach area and poisoning. There were traces of fingerprints along her neck so I think strangulation also played a part" the police officer who was in charge of Taylor's death investigation said to Leo.

He nodded his head silently before going back to Mary. She was still frozen on her seat as she stared at the wall in front of her.

Leo sat down beside her and buried her face in his chest. He knew she was still petrified at what she saw earlier. It was her first time seeing a dead body, on his bed at that, and also his best friend.

Well,'was' his best friend. And it wasn't only because she was dead, it was also because Mary's tumbler that was found near his bed, contained poison. Which was also the same poison now swimming on Taylor's dead body. It appears that Taylor meant for Mary to drink it, but got to taste her own medicine first.

Whoever killed her must have been really angry because she got a total of 8 stab wounds to her stomach, 3 to her shoulder blades, and a long slice on her leg.

Leo immediately called 911 as he saw that she wasn't breathing anymore. The police investigated the crime scene as other officers took Leo and Mary back to their headquarters for questioning.

They told all they can. How they only found her at Leo's room already dead and called for help.

Now, the police is figuring out the motive and the suspect. Leo and Mary was thinking about that too.

Who killed Taylor and what have she done to this unknown person?

"Leo? Oh my goodness, Leo!" Avril's voice was heard.

Mary turned around in time just to see Avril barreling through the doors and hugged Leo to her height.

"What happened? I was passing by your apartment when I saw police cars. I went to check and I almost had a heart attack nang makita na pumupunta sila sa apartment mo" Avril palmed his cheeks.

"I'm alright tita, how did you know we were here?" Leo asked.

"A police officer pointed me here kasi nandito daw kayo. Leo, what happened?" Avril scrunched her brows.

"Taylor is dead, tita. We found her lying on my bed, all bloody and clearly dead" Leo breathed.

"Oh my goodness. Poor Taylor" Avril gasped and covered her gaping mouth.

"Yet it appears that Taylor went inside my apartment and planned to kill Mary first" Leo mumbled. Avril stopped her fussing and went closer to her nephew.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Mary's water bottle was lying at the foot of the bed and it had poison in it. When they examined Taylor's body,it appeared that the same poison from the tumbler is in Taylor's mouth. Apparently, whoever killed her must have found out she was going to poison Mary, so they had to kill her first and made her drink her own poison." Leo told Avril.

After explaining, Avril averted her eyes from Leo to Mary.

"Baka naman ikaw ang pumatay kay Taylor?! You must have found out she meant to poison you, so you acted first!" she pointed accusingly at Mary.

"M-me? Tita k-kasama ko si Leo at the time of Taylor's death! He can attest to me!" Mary sputtered.

"That's right tita. Mary and I was shopping at the mall during Taylor was attacked. Si Mary pa nga ang naka discover sa katawan ni Taylor" Leo dragged her aunt away from Mary.

"Oh goodness. Poor Marisa. Tinawagan niyo na ba siya?" Avril asked as she got her phone out to which Leo only nodded.

"Aunt Marisa is probably already on her way to the morgue, sige na tita. Go home na, I'll take care of this" Leo kissed his aunt's cheeks.
