Bloody Mary (COMPLETED)

Chapter 8

"What?" Mary gaped at Leo.

"I'm sorry, love. Pero wala na daw talagang malapitan si Mrs. Medina. Ako lang ang kilala niyang kaibigan ni Marco" Leo mumbled apogetically.

"No, no, it's okay, go. I'm just surprised about what happened to him" Mary smiled at Leo.

"I'm so glad you understand, love. Don't worry babawi ako" he kissed Mary's cheeks before getting his car keys and driving off to the hospital.

Mary and Leo was about to go to the mall when someone called Leo's phone. When he answered, his eyes widened. Mary was getting worried so she asked who called him.

He said it was Mrs. Medina, Marco's mother. She was crying when she called and told him that someone snuck inside Marco's room and almost beat him to death. Thank goodness she arrived on time so the assaulter ran away.

She called Leo because she remembered him and she couldn't get help from anybody. Said Marco was on the hospital, unconscious and unstable, but he'll make it. The doctor said he received severe blows to the head so it'll be a while before he wakes up.

Emily needed the company and a little financial help, so Leo was the only answer.

When Leo's car disappeared off the distance, Mary felt awe at her fiance. Even though Marco did him wrong, he was still a call away from help. She couldn't be more prouder.

It seemed that no one was going with her now so she got her phone out and called Rose. She answered on the second ring.

"Yup?" Rose's voice greeted.

"Wanna go to the mall with me?" Mary asked in a hopeful voice.

"Yes, please. I'm dying to get out of the restaurant" Rose groaned as Mary laughed at her friend.

"He what?!" Rose raised her voice which earned a handful of glares from the people around them.

"Yep. He did. He immediately drove away nang tinawagan siya ng nanay ni Marco" Mary smiled softly.

"Aww, Leo's got a big heart. That was so nice of him" Rose gushed.

"Yeah, I'm really lucky" Mary proudly said.

"You bet you are. Kung ako siguro yun, binaba ko na agad yung tawag" Rose confessed.

"That's so rude of you!" Mary gaped at her friend to which Rose just shrugged.

They were at the mall and Mary was telling Rose about what happened earlier when Mrs. Medina called him. Mary felt great pride for her fiance's actions.

He was a good man at heart, he needs to be appreciated.

Currently, they were at a department store looking for things Mary can put in their future house. She was eyeing a vase when a hand touched her back which caused her to let go of the vase.

It fell unto the tiled floor and broke which made a loud sound. Rose was immediately by her side, asking if she got hurt. When she nodded, she looked behind her and her eyes widened.

It was the thin lady from the funeral!

She wore a baggy gray shirt and simple jeans. Her sunken eyes were staring wide at Mary's form and took a step forward to her. When she tried to reach for Mary, Rose immediately put her body between the woman and her best friend while pushing the woman away.

"What the hell are you doing to my friend?!" Rose kept pushing her away but she stayed strong.

"L-lumayo ka na! U-umalis ka na!" the woman breathed at Mary while being pushed away by Rose.

Mary was staring at the lady with wide eyes. What does she mean? Why would she leave?

"Alis! Alis!" the lady screamed at Mary.

Rose grunted when the woman overpowered her and pushed her to the ground near the broken pieces of the vase. The woman immediately had her thin hands on Mary's shoulder as Mary tried to push her away.

"B-bakit mo ginagawa ito? A-anong kailangan mo?" Mary stuttered when she felt the grip of the woman.

"Lumayo ka na habang maaga pa" the woman said with wide eyes as Mary wiggled out of her grip.

"Let go of me!" Mary shouted at the woman.

The woman didn't notice that Rose already called for help and they were already running towards her. When the woman saw the cavalry, she quickly let her grip on Mary go and ran away out of the store.

"Hey. Okay ka lang, Mary?" Rose asked as she inspectioned Mary from head to toe.

"Y-yes" she nodded her head eagerly at Rose.

"Sino ba yon? Kilala mo ba yung babae na iyon?" Rose furrowed her brows at Mary.

"No. I only saw her once. Sa burial ni Connor" Mary shook her head.

"Grabe namang baliw iyon" Rose muttered as she dragged Mary out of the store.

Rose kept talking to her, but Mary's head was figuring out what the lady meant.

Who was that woman? Why did she tell her to leave?

What does she mean?

"Maraming salamat, hijo. Hindi ko na talaga alam kung sino lalapitan ko eh, ikaw lang talaga naalala ko" Emily Medina said to Leo as soon as he arrived.

He already paid for the hospital bills and was currently outside Marco's room with her.

"It's alright tita, I'm ready to help naman po" Leo mumbled at her.

"Nako, napaka bait mo talagang bata ka. Noon pa lang" Emily gushed at him to which he only smiled.

"Ewan ko ba naman dito kay Marco, kakalabas lang ng preso may kaaway na agad. Ito talagang bata na ito..." Emily muttered under her breath.

"Ganyan talaga yan Aling Emily, Di ka pa nasanay sa anak mo" Leo smirked.

"Sabagay. Pero muntik na siya mamatay kanina. Hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko pag-" Emily did not dare finished her sentence. She didn't want to think about that possibility.

"Okay na po siya tita, naagapan na po. Wag na po kayong mag-alala sa kaniya" Leo smiled at her.

"Sige po, mauna na po ako. Baka kasi hinahanap na ako ng fiance ko" Leo ended.

"Sige. Hijo. Mag-iingat ka sa daan. Maraming salamat uli sa tulong mo ha" Emily smiled gratefully while Leo only nodded at her before disappearing behind the door.
