Avril De Valencia loves nobody but her family. That was why she was the most affected when her brother, Leo's father, and his wife died. She was heartbroken to say the least. When she arrived that day, she saw their body being dragged out while Leo's 19 year old self stared into the distance, following the ambulance that carried his parent's corpses.

She briskly walked towards him and tapped his shoulders to get his attention. When he saw it was aunt, he quickly hugged her. Yet, no tears escaped his eyes.

But she knew he was wrecked, just as she was. She knew because she was exactly the same when her parents died.

Her mom died of a heart attack while her father died of heart break later on. She hugged her nephew like she held her little brother at the time of their parent's death.

The very next day, Avril went with a couple of cops to Marco Medina's house and dragged him away from his sick mother. Though they didn't get back the money he stole from her brother.

She didn't care for the money, she only wanted justice. Seeing Marco cry after being sentenced to 10 years imprisonment was the best day of her life. It only got better when she was informed to take Leo's custody because no one else would look out for him.

She happily obliged seeing that she didn't have any children to look out for. Welcoming Leo to her villa was the second best day of her entirety.

As she watched his blank eyes survey his new home, she swore then and there that no one would hurt this child. They would die before they touch a single strand of hair on his head.

She treated Leo as her own for ten years, and she wouldn't let a measly pathetic fiancé ruin those ten years of hardship.

That was what Avril thought of when she arrived at her villa after nearly getting caught by the securities at the hospital. She snatched a wine bottle from her cabinet and heartedly drank it on one go.

For the rest of the time, she drank herself into oblivion until her sight doubled and her walk started swaying. Everything around her was hazy and moving. And it was only 6 o'clock!

She started walking to her room, bumping into things every once in a while, when the door to her house creaked.

The drunk woman ignored the sound as she kept trying to climb the stairs. When she almost slipped, her face grew a drunky grin and said sorry to the stairs.

She was nearly at the top of the stair case, yet she still didn't notice the figure trailing behind her. His black shirt blended with the shadow, his footstep light, and a black mask covered his face once again.

When Avril drunkily groaned, the figure snapped in action. In a second, he pulled Avril's hair and dragged her up to the remaining steps. She squeeked in pain and surprise when her scalp was being pulled.

"L-Let me go!" Avril slurred as she weakly grabbed at her hair, though it was no use. He was too strong.

The masked man continued to drag her until they reached the railings of the stairs on the second floor. Overlooking the ground below, the man brought out a rope from his pockets and quickly tied Avril's hands.

She could only groan in discomfort as her hands were being tied behind her back. She watched with hazy eyes as he brought out another rope. He carefully tied the rope around her fragile neck and then tied the other end on the railings.

Once done, the man carried Avril's drunk form.

He brought his mouth near her ear and whispered a story to her. Once he started speaking, Avril's eyes widened in shock and fear. Her haziness suddenly cleared and a few tears escaped her eye lids.

She shouted profanities at the man, yet he didn't listen. He slowly walked towards the edge of the railings and prepared to drop Avril.

When Avril finally noticed what he was doing, it was too late.

In one sweep, he dropped her body from the second floor. As soon as she fell, the rope tugged at her neck and caused her neck to be hanged.

She couldn't grasp at her aching neck as they were tied behind her back. She squirmed but to no avail. Walking down the stairs, the man whistled quietly as he observed Avril.

Once below her, the man brought a lighter from his pocket.

Avril's eyes widened in panic as she tried to shout, but only chokes escaped her mouth.

The man flicked the lighter as he smiled inside his mask. Slowly bringing the fire to Avril's feet, he watched as she immediately catched fire.

Her screams and shouts filled the villa while she was being burned and hanged at the same time the man watched with glee at his new kill.

And it was only 7:30...

"Avril? Are you here?" a woman announced as she entered the door to Avril's villa the next morning.

She was Avril's friend from college and was planning to visit her today to invite her to go to Boracay. It has been so long since this woman relaxed.

Looking left and right, she took notice of Avril's riches. Impressive was her comment.

She was checking the lounge room when she smelled something. It smelt like burnt chicken, or meat? She didn't know.

"Avril? Nagluluto ka ba? Sunog na ata!" she said as she headed towards the kitchen.

When she entered the kitchen though, there was no one there. Nothing was on the oven and no person was on sight.

She breathed out and started her way to Avril's room. But before she got there, she fell to the floor and let out a terrified scream.

Above the woman, a burnt body was hanging by the second floor. The skin was black and gray, a little smoke escaped the corpse, and a necklace was on the floor directly below the body.

Avril's signature heart shaped necklace.
