Chapter 10

"Haynako hijo, hindi mo naman ako kailangang ihatid sundo eh. Kaya ko naman mag abang ng tricycle" Emily said while Leo was escorting her to his car.

"Hayaan mo na po ako Aling Emily, eh kung gusto ko ba kayong tulungan, mapipigilan niyo po ba ako?" Leo raised his brow.

"Sabi ko nga, hindi. Alam mo, kaugali mo talaga si Marco, para na kitang anak sa ginagawa mo" she muttered as he helped her get inside to which Leo just smiled and started the car.

"Oo pala, bakit ang tagal mo? Saan kang galing? Mga limang oras ako nag antay sayo ha, gusting gusto ko nang pumunta kay Marco kanina kaso sabi mo susunduin mo ako" she scolded Leo.

"May inasikaso pa po ako sa opisina eh. Kakamatay lang po kasi ng kaibigan ko last week, eh katrabaho ko rin po, kaya napunta lahat ng kaso na hawak niya sa akin. Kaya nag oovertime ako minsan sa opisina" Leo explained to the old woman.

"Aynako, kawawa ka namang bata ka. Naabala ka pa namin ni Marco" Emily frowned.

"Ayos lang po iyon, kaya ko naman po" he smiled warmly at her.

Emily just nodded in understanding and focused her attention outside the car. When they arrived at the hospital, Leo escorted her once again despite all her fuss. They were riding the elevator to the fourth floor where Marco's room with a nurse.

It was when the elevator neared the fourth floor when the nurse's phone rang. She put it on speaker and greeted through the phone.

"Yes, May?" she asked.

"May nakatakas na pasyente sa wing mo. The one on room 13A. Pinag hahanap na yung tao, keep a lookout daw in case na makita" the other person muttered through the other line.

At this, Leo and Emily's eyes widened.

13A was Marco's room number!

"E-excuse me miss?" Leo tapped the nurse's shoulder.

"Ano po iyon?" she asked nicely.

"Did I hear that right? Tumakas yung patient sa room 13A?" Leo furrowed his brows.

"Opo. Pinag hahanap naman na daw po ng security eh, bakit po?" she tilted her head in confusion as Leo's breaths labored.

"Nako! Saan pumunta si Marco?!" Emily cried.

"Kayo po ba iyong kapamilya niya?" the nurse asked as they stepped out of the elevator following her to Marco's room to which Emily nodded eagerly.

They saw it was true when they arrived at Marco's room. The room was still the same, yet no person was seen. Marco was gone from the bed and his location unknown. At this, Emily started her cries.

"N-Nako ang anak ko" she sobbed at Leo.

"Hindi b-ba't binabantayan siya ng kaibigan niyo? N-Nasaan na s-siya?" Emily looked up at Leo's worried face.

"Sandali lang po, tatawagan ko lang po si Mary para tanungin kung nasaan si Rose" Leo excused himself as he went outside the room.

"Wala na bang ibang kapares yang mga iyan? Gusto ko sana umorder ng marami" Mary said to the sales lady as she was inspecting a plate.

All week, Mary either stopped by the wedding planner's place or was at the mall shopping for things for their future house.

The saleslady went to pick out other plates to show her when Mary's phone rang. She saw that it was Leo who was caling and quickly answered.

"Hey love" she greeted.

"Love, may problema tayo"Leo muttered.

"Why? What's wrong?" Mary furrowed her brows.
