Chapter 4

"Love, yung chocolate flavor nalang sa akin" Mary said to Leo as they were waiting in front of the ice cream stand.

After being busy with Rose helping her wedding plans, Mary needed a break. Who better companion than her fiance? Besides, she needs his ideas too.

The couple was at the mall, shopping for things they were going to need once they move in to their own house. So far, they already ordered a king sized bed, kitchen wares, bought curtains, and ordered chairs.

As Leo walked up to take their order, Mary surveyed the people around her. It was a hot day so a lot of people are loitering around, but she couldn't help but spot a familiar face in the crowd.

What was his name again? She thought.

"Marco!" she finally shouted. This got the attention of two men. One from the crowd and one behind her.

As Marco walked to her, Leo hurriedly took their ice cream and zapped to Mary's side.

"Love, let's go" he tugged at Mary.

"No wait. Nandito yung friend mo oh, si Marco. Let's greet him first. Maybe we can invite him to the wedding along the way" Mary nodded her head at Marco.

"He's not invited" he hissed at her.

"Why not Leo? Worried that I'll mess up your big day?" Marco sarcastically said.

"Precisely" Leo tugged at Mary's arms but she wouldn't have it.

"Love, can you stop tugging at me? And why won't he be invited? He's your friend" Mary frowned.

"He 'used' to be my friend, not anymore" Leo glared at Marco to which Mary noticed.

"Why? What happened between you two? What aren't you telling me?" Mary looked to her fiance.

"Yes. Do go on, Leo. What haven't you told her?" Marco smirked at Leo.

"Not here. Don't do this" Leo pleaded with him now.

"Now, that line seems familiar. Where have i heard that before?" Marco pretended to think.

"Oh right! When the police dragged me out of my house and I pleaded for you to stop them. Pero anong ginawa mo? You just watched me" he hissed at Leo while pointing a finger at him accusingly.

"And you continued to watch me hanggang makulong ako. Well guess what De Valencia, you and your aunt's reign is over!" Marco continued to shout even though Leo was dragging Mary further from him.

"You'll pay for this Leo! Mark my words!"

Mary was probably getting a bruise tomorrow from the tight grip of Leo on her arm. He was just staring straight ahead but he made sure that Mary was behind him.

"Leo, let go! You're hurting me!" Mary wiggled her arms out of Leo's grip. He immediately let her go.

"Fuck. I'm so sorry, Mary, I didn't notice" he tried to reach out to her but she stepped away from him.

"What the hell is Marco talking about? Y-you sent him to prison?" Mary shouted at him.

"Baby please..." Leo whispered.

"No! Tell me kung anong problema niyong dalawa sa isa't-isa. I won't have him ruining our wedding Leo!" she glared at him.

"Fine. But please, get inside the car, I'll explain everything. I promise" Leo murmured.

At that, Mary passed Leo and went inside the car, still frowning. Even when Leo joined her inside, she still didn't look at him.

"I-It all started when I was 19 years old. I met him and we immediately became friends. B-But my father didn't like him, because..." Leo paused to which Mary raised her brows.
