Marvel One Shots

"peter!" tony's voice sounded urgent.
"coming!" peter immediately ran to the lab. "what's wrong, mr. stark?" he realized then that tony wasn't even in the lab. worry flooded his body as he called out. "mr. stark? where are you?"
"we're in the kitchen, kid!" peter relaxed. "we've got some news."
peter walked in there. "good news?"
tony grinned. peter had never seen tony so excited. "yeah, i think so."
"what is it?"
tony pointed to the doorway, where pepper now was. she had a wrapped box in her hand, which she handed to pete while she walked to stand beside tony. "here you go, peter."
peter's excitement kicked in as soon as he saw the present. once it was in front of him, he ripped the gift open. in the box was a shirt. it said thing 1 on it.
he looked around, confused. then focused on tony. "are you thing two?..." who else could it be?
tony's smile grew. "take it out."
peter pulled it out slowly and there was something on it. thing 2 was wrote on the baby onesie.
"i don't know any babies." peter was still confused. they knew he didn't know any babies. who would wear this with him?
"you do now." it didn't really click on his head until pepper put a hand on her belly.
peter jumped up. "wait, you- you guys are having a baby?"
peter had always wanted a brother, and though he knew this child wasn't really his sibling, he'd love them like they were.
peter launched into tony's arms. "this is so crazy. are you serious?"
tony chuckled. "of course, pete. you're gonna be a big brother."
peter stopped. "i can- i'll be their brother?"
"of course, kid. you're like a kid to me." then tony pulled back a little bit. their were tears in his eyes, happiness. "this is okay, right?"
peter nodded, his own tears appearing. "more than okay." then he pulled away, and hugged pepper. "thank you so much."
he grinned and walked back over to the shirts. "congratulations, by the way. you'll be great parents." he rubbed his thumb on thing two. "and i'll try my best to be a good brother."
he thought about it. would it be a girl or a boy? would he have the brother he would play with constantly, or the sister he would protect and worry about every second. he grinned. "i hope it's a girl."
